Kiss-cam as well was underwhelming but Dillon Dube looks like come playoff time he'll be some kind of Superman Viking.

i thought dube's been good. had a good sequence where he broke up a play deep in his own end and skated it to the other end for a scoring chance. backlund-esque. he and ferland worked well as the forward press.
depressing game to watch on the whole. losing to the oilers always sucks. not used to this after the last 10 years

I think the play is starting to turn a little bit. Gillies has looked good so far. Valimaki the goat on the fourth goal, but that will be a lesson he should learn from while learning the speed of the pro game.

Obviously not going to write him off this early but I think he's one vet who should not have a quiet preseason.

We would all wish for this to be so, but the fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter a lick what any of us thinks. I would be very surprised if anyone in the Flames organisation is fretting over Brouwer's performance in this first pre-season game.

The Flames players need to hate losing to that frigging clown show, that is the Oilers, as much as we, the fans, do.

Missed most of the 1st due to "blackout restrictions". Thanks NHL.
 Janko looking solid so far.

Valimaki has been a little overenthusiastic about jumping into the play IMO. He'll have to reign it in a bit.

 Hathaway looking strong and fast

Dube still winning me over. Like what I've seen of him.

 Mangiapane with a couple penalties.

 Gillies looking solid so far.

I don't really put too much stock into how the vets look early in preseason and I don't think others should either. They are working out rust vs trying to win jobs. That said Hamilton and Gaudreau looking sharp early IMO.

Agreed. Not to mention the vets haven't had pre-pre-season games.

On a positive note, I'm quite happy with the quality of my Adidas jersey. Haven't seen the Fanatics ones yet but the cheap lettering looks horrible on the Adidas ones. Definitely worth paying extra for the better quality.

If that is an issue—and I am not remotely convinced that it is, I don't think that would help at all in a pre-season game. The vets are coasting through this.

Johnny and Sean need to get genuinely ticked off. And I don't mean frustrated Gaudreau, I mean the Gaudreau that takes the puck and embarrasses you because he's decided that's what he's going to do.

Big ego Johnny that outscored Marchand with a hatty against the Bruins and laughed at him from the penalty box.

I want him against the Oilers real bad.
