I have a Samsung, only ever had one issue with the ice maker, it got too full and froze the mechanism, emptied out the ice and let the tray thing defrost and all was good, the annoying thing about the Samsung is the drawer sliders on the crisper draws have broken and are about 200 bucks each to replace which is absurd for what are just 10 dollar drawer sliders, told the guy not to bother as the drawer works without them if a little less smoothly

It has been spread out ver a number of years, and each time I hope it will last a while, but I am now getting to the tipping point with this

I've had a Samsung for two and a half years. No issues so far but I've told my wife that the very old fridge we gave away (30 years old) may outlive this one. We have friends who had the same Samsung and they've already replaced it after six years. I have little faith in the new stuff.

My ice makers works perfect but the water tastes funny which in turn gives the ice also a funny taste. Replaced filters, replaced water lines, have no clue what to check now. My wife says I’m crazy and doesn’t notice it but it’s totally funny tasting.
I used to have the ice clogging issue but I turned my freezer down to 6 from 9 and it’s been great since.

That's what happens when the sticker price of appliances has basically maintained itself since 1980.

Or that your wife is slowly poisoning you. "Oh, silly! The ice tastes fine! Here, have a margarita."

My tap water is delicious. That’s why it’s so perplexing. I have actually been contemplating buying a new fridge just because of it which is completely unreasonable.

Does the fridge have a filter, which would change the taste of the water? Or change it because it's never been replaced?

After Googling the issue earlier today, I am going to try the following - which have been suggested:
. I am going to use my little steamer and defrost the ice maker and ice build up
. I am going to icrease the top in my freezer from -20 or so to -10
 . Change the filter

I believe that this post may also pass the grammar test as well

FDA suggests, for food safety, that freezers be kept at least (most?) at -18C, fwiw

^ makes sense as yesterday I tried to adjust my freezer and the highest it would go was -15
