Figuring Nenshi knew this meltdown was coming and got out in front of it with yesterday's announcement.

So annoyed with both sides in this whole mess ... just juvenile.
Have to admit Nenshi has been better since he noticed his approval ratings were sinking, but it's been a gong show from both sides from the beginning.

So sad to realize that people in positions of influence or childish and silly.

No they haven't.
There was an offer on the table to the City, and Nenshi has not, and apparently will not, take a position on it.
His comments yesterday were pure electioneering.

Ughhh deep down I'm pretty confident this is just posturing and a deal will get done but a small part of me is worried that they'll actually move. Stupid Ken King.

I'd like to see King get booed any time he's on the ice this year but it's always usually during some award or charity business of some kind, so bad time to do it.

Just to be clear, Ken King is a messenger. He's not *the problem*
And, here we go, this is the CSEC's hail marry. They're hoping that they can influence the municipal election and see a change in leadership or see a significantly reduced mandate for the mayor to attempt to strengthen their hand.

 Vote to save the Flames!

What a crock of crap. If Nenshi does win the election then they'll have no choice but to pay for their own damn arena.

Maybe KK should present something better than the equivalent of a grade 3 level paper mache project as their proposal if they want to get people and the city on board.
KK has had a decade to come up with something exciting and has given us #### all. Then kicks dirt that the city isn't signing on for some vague half assed idea?

 Get rid of him already.

I think CalgaryNEXT is dead.
Hopefully this gets the City actually talking, which they have not been doing.

Time for owners who are in Calgary for the long haul regardless of an ideal building or not.
 |
In fairness, nearly everyone in the ownership group has been so for about a quarter century or more - Byron Seaman is actually an original owner from 1980. Edwards and Libin both bought in in 1994, right when the economics of the NHL were going to hell. They have already proven they are in it for the long haul. That's not the problem here. The problem is their stupidly hamfisted negotiation tactics.

That joker promoting the "Toronto Legacy" NHL team a few years ago had a better presentation.

I have come to the observation that all of CP are city elected officials. Might explain why they have so much free time during the day to post.
