Janko is making the roster this year, opening night.

And you can quote me on that.

Foo is also playing well. That line is dangerous.

I get a lot of the Brouwer hate. But he's really underrated at screening the goalie on the PP.

It's still early, but I'm starting to agree.

It would be nice if Jankowski could take a third line center role. Bennett could then play on the wing (where he produces a lot more).

On another note, I like Ryan Leslie. I wish he was still on 960.

Jankowski is NHL read right now, no question. foo looks like he might be, but we need to see him against better defensemen first.

Mangiapane? I don't think he's close yet.

Yeah, it's hard to ask for much more from Jankowski. He's skating well, competing hard, battling on every faceoff, controlling the puck well, passing well... pretty exciting. Looking like the organization's patience is going to pay off.

I really like how Foo plays on the rush. When he carries it he seems to make the right choice and when he doesn't he goes to the net as hard as he possibly can. Mangiapane is just a good hockey player. I'm loving that line. I'm sure Ryan Huska wouldn't mind if he got to deploy that unit in Stockton to start the year (but I don't think Jankowski will be available).

Valimaki sure looks poised. Plays like a vet. This is awesome to watch

This new It's Go Time commercial is cringe-worthy. Just painful.

Could we please have Phillips on the pp over hunter smith, it reminds me of Brouwer over Bennett on the big club.

The Flames play a 1-3-1. That means a guy parked in front of the net. And that generally means bigger guys.

As much as everybody hates Brouwer (and Smith, apparently), their net presence is part of what the Flames are trying to do.

Get used to it.

We can hate on Weisbrod all we want, but now's not the time to forget he's the reason we have Jankowski.

I don't see a player that isn't close, I just see a player who if he makes it to the NHL will make it for what he is - A small, skilled, feisty winger, which he's excelling at in spades at the AHL level.

He doesn't look far away as much as he will have to wait until the Flames see room for him on the big club, or injuries. His size was always going to hold him back from an NHL job, but he's improving everything he can control at an incredible rate each season and in each new league.

NHL teams just don't want to fill their roster with too many small guys.

Ruzika has looked decent as well. Looks like a continuation of the Flames 4th round success. Long road but he has the tools it looks like.

Yeah he's decent at that. But so are Ferland and Tkachuk. I'd rather have both those over Brouwer on the PP.
