Serve and volley on break point was a great idea, just a halfhearted volley.

I still ranked Nadal slightly ahead of Federer because he beat Federer at Wimbledon but Federer never beat Nadal at RG.

But every time they put on a classic as they did in Australia, the next one just gets even bigger, in my view.

I think Rafa wins this one, though, to be honest, if Roger gets through... The court is slower here and Roger isn't as fresh as he was early in the year.
Great or not, I tend to actively dislike uberhyped players. I can do without Crosby, Ovechkin and McDavid for similar reasons. It was fun cheering for Djokovic as he marched up the standings, so I'm also more partial to him but honestly, its time for new blood.

Roger picked up his game considerably, Delpo needs to do the same or this will be over in 4.

But this logic means that, by default, you have to have Novak ahead of Rafa since Rafa never beat Novak in Australia, but Novak has beaten Nadal at RG.

This match on Ashe certainly doesn't have the same atmosphere as the Delpo -Thiem match on Grandstand two days ago.

Yeah the atmosphere....kinda sucks to be honest. I think Ashe with the roof is now easily the worst of the shows courts at a major, they should have downsized the arena to something like 18,000 when they added to roof.

Absolutely. I can't really describe it, but the roof makes Ashe seem very hollow.

Stadium is just too big and spaced out. But now with the roof on there's nothing they can do about it. What makes Centre Court and Laver the best is that they are more compact as stadiums. Yeah they only seat 15,000 or so each, but it gives a much better atmosphere for the fans and players. The players complained a fair bit about the acoustics of Ashe this year.

Delpo needed that much more than Fed. Fed still has a shot to win in 5 had he won the tie break it would have been over in 4 as Fed would have won the 4th something like 6-2.

Don't know how you are saying this with such certainty. Federer not dominating in any way. He can still pull it out but he is in big trouble.

This isn't Youzhny or Tiafoe, Del Potro will close this out in four unless his serving drops off.

Fed has the ability to take momentum and run with it like no one else in history. And as I type this he plays a crap game and drops serve. He is in big trouble he needs Delpos serve to drop off or could be over soon.

Juan Martin has been the best player all tournament, unless his serve drops against anyone who's left he's going to win. Crowd will be fully behind him too.

Well, no more reason to watch any matches in this tournament. That sucked. The volley to set up match point was a joke.

Congrats Rafa, I guess.

At least I won't have to get annoyed by that crowd anymore. Good lord, shut the hell up between serves.
