Dominant effort. Reminder to CFL and TSN, Stamps are missing the following:

-Top DE in Hughes
-Top OL in Wilson
-#1 Receiver in Jorden
-Top LB in Mayo
-Starting OL in Bergman
-Starting WR in Durant
-Starting LB in Harris
-Starting DE in Law

Besides Harris all would be starting if they were healthy (Harris would be backing up Mayo). So 7 starters and that doesn't include guys like Levertu, Thorn etc.

Congrats to Julan Lynch on his first CFL catch....Parker played well except that one deep ball where he thought his hands were on his chest...Finch, what can you say? the guy flat out flies out there. Gotta give props to his blockers too, good coverage and blocking....Wiggan and Davis were standouts on the DL, pressure and run stoppage...Couple of mistakes otherwise O, D, ST all played well. Good win, onto Edmonton.

Awesome spanking by Stampeders over Eskimos 39-18. Stamps totally dominated the game in all 3 facets of the game. Defense was awesome and punished Mike Reilly all game. Secondaries did not give Reilly a look deep. Stamps DB group is by far the best DBs in the CFL. Tommi Campbell and Ciante Evans on the corner, Jamar Wall and Brandon Smith on HB, then you have Shaq or Burnett to cover the short pass and Josh Bell or Tunde Adeleke covering the middle or helping the other DBs. The Front 7 even when missing some starters Hughes, Law(on ends) and Mayo on LB position are playing like they are not even missing anyone. Ja'Gared Davis, James Vaughter and Jameel Turman are fitting in very nicely.

Not sure who else is better MLB in the CFL over Alex Singleton. What a steal in last year's draft!! Micah Johnson is by far one of the best interior lineman in the CFl playing along with much improved Derek Wiggan and Junior Turner. These two definitely made a veteran interior lineman Bryan Hall expendible.

On offense, Davaris Daniels is heating up. Marken Michel is becoming a threat and the always reliable McDaniel is also heating up. Messam is starting to enjoy the game and starting picking more yardages on every play. Small sample on Anthony Woodson but I like what I am seeing so far. The only concern I have is our OLinemen but we are so used to it as we have every injuries on OLine every season but it doesn't look it is affecting us. We lost 3/5 of our starting OLines so far and another one (Federkeil)looks like he got hurt.

I can't wait for the Part Deux of Battle of Alberta(Labour Day Classic version).

Great game, perfect weather! Hopefully the atmosphere translated to TV because that was by far the best crowd we've had so far this year. This D really feels like a special group. Can't wait for the rematch next week.

Good teams win, but great teams cover!

I've seen before a few years ago and Reilly was not even a starter yet. Labour Day game in Calgary with Mike Nichols as a starting QB for the Eskimos. Stamps killed them in the first half and the score was lopsided. You thought there is no way Eskimos will come by or even get a chance to win that game. In comes Mike Reilly to replaced Nichols and Eskimos came back in the 2nd half and almost beat the Stamps. The next game Eskimos came up firing with Reilly starting and smoked the Stamps that game. They were so motivated from the get go and caught the Stamps off guard.

Yeah, I get what your saying, but I don't think this team is anywhere near the that team. Just talking to the players first and foremost in their mind was the loss to the REDBLACKS last year where they were complacent. The Stamps leadership aren't going to let that happen and the coaching staff isn't going to accept it.

BTW the biggest stat tonight wasn't yards or completions or sacks or whatever. The biggest number is 40. That's the number of hits that Reilly took tonight. I would be surprised if he's even going to be at practice on Tuesday.

I knew he got hit a lot, but 40.... that is insane.

On the radio after the game, they said he came back in after he was injured.

It was a combination of sacks, hits and hurries.

I think the most impressive part of that is the Stamps did it without blitzing a whole lot.
Micah Johnson and Junior Turner have been good for years now, but it looks like they have really taken it another step this year as the interior presence on that line. JaGared Davis and Wiggan also filling in nicely for Hughes.

Then there is Alex Singleton...what can you say? A star has been born.

Hughes and Mayo might be available next week, which is a whole new nightmare for the Esks and Reilly.

Singleton is one of the best middle linebackers that I've watched just because of his feel for the game and his sideline to sideline speed.

Just think this is year two, wait until he gets some more experience.

I see Singleton getting serous NFL interest.i honestly can't remember a defensive player in the last decade I notice as much as Singleton on any team in the league outside of Cam Wake.

I was worried about the defence after the first two games against Ottawa, but lately they've absolutely been the strength of the team. Our secondary really played well yesterday, Campbell is probably the best corner this team has had since the heydays of Brandon Browner.

I don't know, he's almost too small to be an NFL Linebacker especially as a middle run stopper, he's not fast enough to be a DB.

He's already had two I think NFL looks and didn't stick.

When we interviewed him, he absolutely loves CFL ball and he was over the top about playing in Calgary.

I think he becomes a career guy here.

Maybe the NFL would be interested in Finch.

He can probably make a quarter million a year in Calgary and get sponsorship or toil away on practice rosters down south. I think that's the same thing Bo realized, that he can live a comfortable life in Canada playing CFL as the best player in the league. Singleton is the best defensive player in the CFL and will be paid like one soon enough.

A quarter million a year in Calgary for a non-QB player, you know this is the CFL right? Aside from that, you are talking about the Calgary Stampeders who routinely tell players to take a walk if they want top dollar.

$160,000 - $180,000, maybe given the passport, but 250K is fantasy land type of number.

Bo probably makes in the 350K range. That's a big difference between normal roster players though. Can't compare what Bo did to what another position would do.

EDIT: Looks like you are right. He could hit 250K, but point still remains that Calgary won't be paying him that.

Elimimian is in the last year of a deal that pays him 225K+...no reason Singleton couldn't be in the same ballpark.

Few CFLers stuck with their NFL teams this year. Bighill supposedly had a great training camp and preseason with the Saints and still got cut and that's really bad defense in NO. He's on their practice roster but barring any major injury troubles he's not likely going to see any action this season. If you are undersized in the NFL you have to be better than good, you have to be extraordinary good. I suppose it will come down to how much of a dream the NFL is for him and if he's going to be happy bouncing around as I wouldn't be surprised if NFL teams would take a look at him based on his film over the past few seasons.
