Shap is the youngest man in the 4th Round of the US Open since 1989 when some young guys named Chang and Sampras did it.

This win guarantees Denis main draw entry into every ATP event on the calendar until next August....even the Paris masters 1000 at the end of the year are all but assured considering the raft of injuries to the top ten contingent.

Huge congrats to Serena Williams on delivering a healthy baby girl today!! Maybe Serena will play long enough to play doubles with her one day.

hey so are we still projecting Felix to be even better? or has Shapo shattered his development curve and is now the lead Canadian hope? cause if both pan out we're talking a 1-2 punch from the same country, the likes of which haven't been seen since the Sampragassi days.
yes, I'm going full Schremp. don't care tho.

Neither of whom made it to quarters.

I predict 20 grand slams between the two of them.

Sampras kid is over hyped will never win anything couldn't even make the quarters in 89!
Seriously tho you have to feel for Pistol Pete thought his 14 would stand forever and it was passed twice and maybe a third time if Novak sorts his crap out. At this point you would have to put Sampras #3 all time no?

#4 at best. Novak and Rafa are both more well rounded players than Sampras was. Of course this is comparing across eras as well.

Nadal +150
Federer +200
Shapovalov +1400
Isner +1400
Thiem +1600
Del Potro +1600

What makes Felix the prospect with the higher ceiling is the physicality. When he fills out he'll be as big as Stan, with the ground game of Novak. That's a scary, scary player. I do think they'll be fighting each other for number one in the world down the road.

I had to look up that flag!
There's a Moldovan tennis player?
In the 3rd round?
Up a set on Querrey?

Man, people are massively undervaluing Thiem.

If we we're playing on the dirt, he would probably be second favorite behind Rafa, but he hasn't had the best summer on the hard court and he's in the wrong part of the draw and I think the odds are reflecting that fact.

Gabriela Dabrowski and partner Yifan Xu move on to the round of 16 in women's doubles as they defeated a Spanish women's duo.

If anyone is being undervalued it's Del Potro. Based off Roger and Rafa's form, Del Potro will blow them off the court. He may have to beat them both, but that appears far less daunting than it seemed a few weeks ago.

Yeah if I was a betting man, money would go on Del Potro right now.

And yet RBA is the slight favourite over Delpo as far as the betting is concerned regarding their match tomorrow.
