It was a pretty sad and shocking moment. My lead came up and said we have a deceased body and we will need 4 people to get it on the belt loader because the box was 500lbs. It was creepy as it was my first time handling a dead body and found out it was Ed. We all were shocked and sad but ended up sharing stories of Ed the rest of the night.

Is "Dead Ed" really the best way to refer to a bonafide legend? I'd go with something simpler like "Ed Whalen"

Honestly nothing in my statement was false or derogatory. Ed Whalen was amazing but the first post on the page only referred to "Ed" and when I see an update on a Jagr Rumour thread I wasn't expecting to see it, Mark Jankowski chat, more likely, stories about how a community member unloaded a corpse...not so much.
I stand by my comments.

I used to have a drinking buddy who would get really lippy all the time when he was hammered. Often it ended up with playful punches thrown and we'd set each other straight. It always used to start when I'd tell him if he didn't shut his trap, I'd start ''Ed Whalen'' on him.
RIP Ed

Your post, however accurate, is offensive to the point where I question if you having any idea what Ed Whalen meant to the City and the Calgary sporting community.
Go ahead and standby your comment and I will standby my opinion of you being an absolute idiot.
Now onto the thread topic.. any news on Jagr?

Little known fact: Over the summer months the moderation team at CP just kicks back to watch the forum unravel on its own. It is morbidly delightful.

You can't even moderate your own words.

The rumour is on the interwebs, so take it with a grain of salt. At least I am providing thread based content.

Pro Tip: If there's any genuine news in a thread about a signing or contract negotiations, someone will change the title or create a new thread. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of speculation that goes more and more off-topic the longer it drags on.

For what it's worth, two of the players Treliving acquired at the deadline last year are still with the Flames, and will be for the foreseeable future.
Although deadline deals tend to be rentals, Treliving to date has proven himself to be a longer-term thinker IMO. Just wanted to chime in to assume a deadline deal for a young "D" prospect does not necessarily equate to a short-term rental. But signing Jagr (or Iggy) is decidedly short-term thinking. (Not just because it will be a one year contract, but also because it costs a younger player a spot to prove himself)

I think Stajan would be the first to take a seat in this case.

Doubtful. Jankowski would have to clearly beat him for a 4th line centre spot. It's far more likely that Jankowski starts on a wing. Or is the first injury call-up.
