Brian Elliott epitomizes everything Philadelphia hates about their goalies. He's another Czechmanek/Esche/Boucher/Leighton/Mason.

These comments are from June when the deal was announced, but it was interesting to hear Phil Esposito's views at the 0:20 mark - he said the biggest challenge with Smith in Dallas, Tampa and Phoenix is that he has been "inconsistent". Phil acknowledged Smith had one good year in Phoenix. It will be interesting to see if the change in venue to a Canadian hockey market and with one of the best d-cores in the NHL in front of him if Smith can solve his consistency challenges. If he can, then the Flames have a winner.

Biggest takeaways from the above video:
1. Burke made another bad deal
2. our GM's name is Treling?
3. Nobody in that video knows what they're talking about

Yeah some riveting analysis to be had there. I'll be taking a one month hiatus from work and from posting on CP so I can take pause and properly consider and evaluate the segment.

Looks like it was filmed in one of their mom's basements with a city backdrop plopped in it.
Mike Smith is a good #2? Hahaha. Sure, in your fantasy world/EA. But in what reality? Any vet proven to handle 60+ games is not going to be a cheap enough option to put in as a number 2. That's why most/all teams have either and unproven or young goalie as their backup. Also there were few to no better options available. He's speaking as if the Flames just opted to not pay for an elite goalie, like there was one to be snapped up.
At the risk of being unpopular, Phil Esposito is a colossal jackass.
Ouch. Espo is 75 years old and a legend of the game. I will cut him slack. And I loved those Bruins teams.
I often like Bill Watters. He is full of himself often but his loud criticisms of Dallas Eakins were legendary in my book. His hockey knowledge diminishes the further the topic strays from the Leafs to be sure.

Is that actually a professional broadcast of some sort?
The host there was making gagging noises and asked if he was "F@#ked in the head".
The blowhard host is John Galagher, he's a self proclaimed celebrity who worked for citytv in Toronto as some sort of artsy fartsy culture host, this allowed him to crash party's for the real celebs, I think it was Rachel McAdams that called him "creepy" once and it caused a bit of a stir in the TO media.
Not sure where he came up with the credentials to host a sports show,if it can be called that
