Just re-watched that "presser".
He was in full melt down mode. Honestly, he is so far over his head on every level, I just can't see the RNC allowing him to go on much longer. If that political party ever wants to be re-elected again, they have to disavow themselves of him.

Exactly. "Unite the Right"...I don't think this is getting the attention that it deserves. Who, no matter how conservative your veiwpoint, wants to align himself with someone who worships Hitler and carriers the Nazi flag around?
I mean seriously. People have to understand at this point that they have to draw a clear distinction between their own beliefs and the crazies. If they are unwilling to do so they will get sucked into the cesspool of hate and you can't recover from that.

For the people who are disgusted, how does the left draw them in? The right is popular at all levels right now and as discussed in the other thread, what percentage are racists? what percentage are ok with it? what percentage are silent and just nod? Is this now going to far?
How does the DNC re-organize and get it's message out?

Denouncing the KKK is probably the easiest possible thing a politician can do.
That, or feigning religious faith.

So I'm now watching Jake Tapper's summary and the CNN panel discussion of the press conference I actually watched basically all of, and honestly, it's not all that much better than Fox News is. I haven't watched CNN since the election, and I didn't know it had gotten this bad. Unless this is just a one-off. Good lord.
EDIT: I should probably clarify before someone accuses me of defending Fox News. Basically, Tapper provided the same sort of highlight summary I did above, except he misrepresented, I have to think deliberately, what was said. For example, he claimed that Trump said that some of the white supremacists and Neo-nazis were good people, when Trump said that there were good people involved in the protest that weren't white supremacists or neo-Nazis.
I mean, look at what I put up above. Is that not insane enough on its own? Intentionally lying about the content of a deranged rant to make it seem even more deranged is incredibly counterproductive.

It was a white supremacist and neo-nazi rally in support of the statue. It wasn't a protest of removing the statue that white supremacists showed up to. IF it was the latter, then I would say you have a point, but given that it was a white supremacist rally, I think it is fair to say that Donald was saying that some white supremacists are fine people given his direct quotes.

No, it isn't fair, because that isn't what he said. Full stop. You're a reporter. Do not lie about what the guy said when you paraphrase his words.
It's not my point, either, it's Trump's. I think it's pretty crazy, because I have now watched the Vice documentary, and Trump said a couple of times in the context of there being "good people" protesting the statue, that we should look at Friday Night. Well, Vice has footage of Friday night, and that #### makes me literally want to cry and vomit at the same time. It's harrowing just to look at on a screen; I can't imagine what it would have been like to be there. Those are not good people, because if you were a good person, I'd like to think you wouldn't be marching with a bunch of people chanting "Jews will not replace us" and "Blood and soil"... much less chanting "F*** you Fa**ots" at counter-protestors or standing shoulder to shoulder with people carrying Swastika flags the following day.
That's my point. Trump's statements are utterly insane on their face. Lying about them distracts from their utter insanity. I really wish they wouldn't do that. That's all I'm saying.

I honestly don't know why anyone with an IQ above 70 watches U.S. television news. It certainly can't be to inform themselves. Is it just for the LOLs?
