Fantastic episode, much improved over the last two. That long shot with Bronn was nuts. Expected drogon to dodge a bit better though. I am worried they might have blow the whole CGI budget on Drogon though and the next few episodes will be potato quality.
The Starks are all together now. Bran is super awkward now and the goodbye with Meera is kinda messed.
we've all been waiting for that Eff Ya Boyyy feeling of watching a dragon turn its enemies to dust, but with all the disoriented slow motion burning and screaming shots, it seemed like they were trying to drum up sympathy for the Lannister army. dammit I don't want to have to feel anything for those guys, but then again we've seen that for the most part it's always been their leaders who are terrible, and a lot of the foot soldiers are just regular dudes who want to sing campfire songs.
and why are they forcing me to cheer against Bronn? it's like the Flames just traded Backlund to the Oil and now I must hate him even though I don't want to.

Isn't that part of what makes the show great, that it blurs the line of good vs evil that is typical of the fantasy genre? I recall reading a quote from George RR that was something along those lines, that wars in real life were never as simple as good guys and bad guys, and he wanted his story to reflect that.
Sam's dad came by and told Jaime that the gold had all arrived safely in King's Landing just before the Dothraki attack started.
Couldn't tell for sure, but I thought there was a shot with Sam's dad burning/melting while falling to his knees and pulling off his helmet. Anyone catch that clearly? Was that Sam's dad?
Edit: rewatched that part but still couldn't tell for sure. Think it's not Sam's dad.
