No, Larsson might be, but Klefbom is legitimately really, really good. He's in contention for the best deal in the league on that contract.
That remains to be seen to me, he had one good season, Before that you could generously class him as a train wreck in his own end.
Did he find consistency?
Did his stats mega jump because of improvement?
Or is he another guy that rode a career year?
Hey he might be the greatest thing since sliced bread, or when they go into the season with a weakened blueline he might revert to a ok middle pairing option.
But he's being way over hyped.

Bozak and JVR? 8.5 million for two guys each with 1 year left on their contracts. Meanwhile our boy Dougie is locked up for another 4...
Not to mention, why would we trade for a center and a LW? This guy must have written this from the toilet this morning. I can see why it makes sense for the leafs.
Stupid stupid stupid proposition.
In all fairness, many people on CP make the same garbage proposals going the other way. Trade a bunch of our trash for a core piece of another team coming back our way. All one has to do is look through the Trade Speculation and Rumours thread to see plenty of examples.
Every fan base does the same thing, ours is no different.

There's a bit of a difference here in that some author / blogger seems to be spurring these mouth-breathers on with an asinine article suggesting it's even possible in the first place.
You're right every fan base has people that do it on message boards, but the sheer number of them in Laughs Nation out-numbers all others by far.

I think the reason for this is that many fans are very surprised at the acquisition cost of a lot of good players. The Flames just pulled off a trade for Travis Hamonic without losing a single player from their roster. Who saw that happening?
Of course, what fans tend to do poorly is to accurately gauge how a NHL GM views his own team and players. In the present case, the assumption for past trade rumours involving Dougie Hamilton have largely stemmed from the belief that he is either 1) not highly valued by coaches and management or 2) thought to be a problem in the dressing room. For the most part, this is why players are traded: because there has come to a point the belief that the team will be better without him, or can no longer accommodate the player and thus must recoup some value in return.
The problem with the present rumour is that Pension Plan Puppets correctly recognizes that Hamilton is one of the Flames most valuable players. But where they fail is in the belief that the Flames would entertain trading one of their most valuable players, which in itself is a silly thought. The reason it is silly is because the cost would be too prohibitive, but that is something that seems lost on the trade generator.

While this is true, it isn't every blog post or online publication that does so. There is too much baseless speculation for it to be taken seriously, he makes suppositions about the flames which he disclaims from one sentence to the next. I guess we're not talking about one of the big sports networks here, its just bored Summer content filler from a minor blog.
Hell of a thread. Missed it the first go-around but am amazed reading back through it. A little disappointing some posters I respect (CF) still haven't answered for some questionable thought processes.
I don't he would be worse, he would be a more of a Chris Pronger.
There is a difference between playing with an edge and taking penalties. He can play with an edge, will not taking penalties.
Sure, but right now he can't even play without an edge without taking penalties. His discipline is currently his biggest flaw. And the Wideman Effect didn't help.
