Yeah, they really need to propose "improvements" to the existing law. But in reality, it is counterproductive to propose anything at this time as the Republicans will just beat them over the head with it as an admission they backed bad legislation. That's the politics of the situation, and no one will ever give the other something to beat them up with.

Isn't now the time to go all in on single payer? Explain it to the American public and sell it to the average joe that this will prevent you or a loved one from dying or going bankrupt from major illness.

ACA has never been more popular because people are starting to view healthcare as a right and not a product in the States. Get it done.

They've identified the eight person in the Trump tower meetings with Jr and what do you know? This guy is also implicated in huge Russian money laundering schemes.

Quote:
An American-based employee of a Russian real estate company took part in a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between a Russian lawyer and Donald Trump Jr., bringing to eight the number of known participants at the session that has emerged as a key focus of the investigation of the Trump campaign’s interactions with Russians.

Ike Kaveladze’s presence was confirmed by Scott Balber, an attorney for Emin and Aras Agalarov, the Russian developers who hosted the Trump-owned Miss Universe pageant in 2013. Balber said Kaveladze works for the Agalarovs’ company and attended as their representative.

Balber said Tuesday that he received a phone call from a representative of Special Counsel Robert Mueller over the weekend asking if Kaveladze would agree to be interviewed. Balber said his client would cooperate. The request is the first public indication that Mueller’s team is investigating the meeting.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...=.939b80454580

Quote:
The accounts had been opened by Irakly Kaveladze, who immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1991, according to Citibank and Mr. Kaveladze. He set up more than 2,000 corporations in Delaware for Russian brokers and then opened the bank accounts for them, without knowing who owned the corporations, according to the report by the General Accounting Office, which has not been made public.
Good thing is the guy is American so is subject to investigation by Meuller.

Imagine going down that rabbit hole. This case must be an investigators dream. Can't wait for the movie if we all make it.

It's cynical, but you can't hand the Republicans a win. Sure you can offer something, then the Republicans will negotiate and take credit for the resulting legislation

You'd think so. All logic, historical data and global consensus seem to be on board.

But no. Cuz freedom.

It is pretty amazing how a number of Senators are trying to suggest this is the fault of the Democrats for not willing to work with them. Its incredible the depths of how much they lie for their own ideology, because no way in hell are they genuinely blaming democrats.

Zero chance of that happening.

None.

the GOP have convinced their base that a) By passing universal healthcare, you are floating deadbeats that don't deserve it and; b) there should be some choice as to which plan you want to take on...

there are GOP that want the entire thing repealed. Period.

it flies in the face of government expansion of entitlement programs, which is antithetical to the right wing GOP party...

Did you hear Sarah Huckabee Sanders press briefing (no cameras, again)

Quote:
"Democrats." That's who Sanders blamed for the current standstill over Obamacare as the Senate bill appears dead. Democrats have refused to help Republicans repeal Democratic President Barack Obama’s signature legislative achievement, which Sanders declared “unacceptable."

“They’re responsible for passing Obamacare. They’re responsible for the mess we’re in,” she said.

Its like Ken Ham blaming Aetheists who "prayed for the project to fail" in speaking about his Ark experience project...

Ummm Ken... maybe you don't know what that word actually means...

Smart for SHS to shut off the cameras... way too many opportunities to turn GOP talking points into internet memes that would threaten Bagdad Bob as the go to choice for government lies and propaganda

someone needs to remind SHS how government actually works....

When your son is at the centre of an investigation on colluding with Russians and you've been dogged by accusations regarding secrecy and Russian collusion yourself maybe don't have secret meetings with Russians?

Quote:
According to Tuesday reports, in their second conversation, Trump spoke with the Russian leader for roughly an hour, joined only by Putin's translator. The meeting had previously gone without mention by the administration.

The White House confirmed that Trump and Putin spoke at a dinner for G20 leaders and their spouses. But a White House official appeared to dispute that the discussion lasted an hour, saying the two only spoke "briefly" near the end of the dinner.
I kind of hope they go with the "time is a flat circle" defence for why it wasn't an hour long meeting.

This administration has many titles (craziest, most cult like, most likely to #### its pants etc...), but the typo administration is certainly right near the top. Nevermind that they get it right like 15 words later.

You'd think Putin would have enough tact to give Trump his six month performance review somewhere on the d/l and not the G20 meetings. Way to humiliate your employee Vlad.

I guess we have to like Bannon at least 1% more now.

Quote:
Steve Bannon reportedly called House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) “a limp-dick mother####er who was born in a petri dish at the Heritage Foundation,” referring to the think tank whose fiscal conservative policies the representative espouses.

The detail is one of many bizarre nuggets in Devil’s Bargain, a new book on White House chief strategist Bannon’s role in President Donald Trump’s political rise, by Bloomberg Businessweek reporter Joshua Green, who has extensively covered the former Breitbart chairman.

Green wrote that Bannon’s comment on Ryan came during the spring of 2016, when it became increasingly possible that Trump would become the GOP presidential nominee, to the surprise and concern of establishment Republicans. Some of them had floated Ryan as a possible alternative if the party’s convention were to become contested.

Quite the reversal on Huntsman by Trump. Today, Ambassador to Russia. In 2012, Trump wasn't such a fan.

For a person that continues to call the press fake or dishonest or lying it's interesting to read this tweet from a few minutes ago. I don't think I've seen a single media outlet report there was a secret dinner.

Quote:
Donald J. Trump‏@realDonaldTrump
Fake News story of secret dinner with Putin is "sick." All G 20 leaders, and spouses, were invited by the Chancellor of Germany. Press knew!

Wow, something Bannon and I agree on.

Ugh, I need a brillo-pad shower.
