If we win the Cup with Iggy it'll be one of the best hockey stories in NHL history. Literally a movie will be made. And a 30 for 30.
And it'll show up on playoff promo montages 50 years from now.
Make it happen Brad!!!
That would be the exclamation point on a great career, and would guarantee his place in the HHOF. The C of Red would explode in a massive eruption, and fans everywhere outside of Edmonton would actually cheer for the Flames. Might even partially neutralize the Wideman Effect.
The possibility of a storybook ending makes me wonder if Iggy might actually consider it, since there seems to be a positional fit and as good a chance of success as anywhere else. I think the bigger question is whether the Flames are interested.
Wouldn't hurt the Flames' bottom line, either, he'd once again be a fan favourite and sell lots of merchandise.
Needs to be a low cap hit to work, though, probably not more than 1 year or much more than 1M.

I would support Iginla coming back if the Flames could find a way to trade Brouwer and Iginla signs a 1 yr, cheap deal. Otherwise it means one of two things: either Iginla is playing on the top line (which is bad) or Brouwer is (which is also bad). Having Iginla on the 4th line instead of Brouwer could make a lot of sense tho
Sounds like Iginla and Doan are doing a local kamloops sports show tonight discussing their futures. Will be interesting to hear if either has concrete interest.
Has this happened yet? Sorry, unable to tune in. If anyone can summarize, that would be sweet.
