Rassell's step-father mentioned to me that he had been invited to Penticton.

Somebody stole my Foo video and re-uploaded it themselves on Twitter to a bunch of retweets and shares... to which I say, #### that guy.
Anyway, I'll be uploading the first part of the scrimmage now.

Thanks for the pictures Nick!
If it's not too much trouble, do you mind spoilering them as to not break the reply to thread page? Thanks!

Little late to the party here, but I was at the scrimmage this morning and I just don't get the love we all seem to have for Rasmus Andersson. I'm no scout or anything, and it's just one game, but he was only noticeable for bad decisions, and honestly he looks slow and out of shape. I've never seen him play for the Heat, but i just don't see the potential there. Kylington made some pretty bad plays today, but I can definitely see the potential there. Can't say the same about Rasmus.

The only players in this camp that I view as very likely to reach the NHL are
Kylington, Andersson, Valimaki, and Parsons
Plenty of potential, but a few hurdles
Foo, Mangiapane, Dube, Fox and Phillips
Long Shots with highish end potential.
Lindstrom, Ruzicka, Reinike, Malott
Ones that I think could be serviceable depth players if they reach
McDonald, Poirier, Lomberg, Fischer, Healey, and AOM
Of that list of 19 names, I think 6 of them become NHL regular players. If I had to guess, the top 4 + Phillips and Foo.
Don't think any of them outside of Parsons has top end potential. Some quality middle six talents and a handful of depth pieces.

Strange, I thought Rasmus looked great today. Poised defensively and made some great offensive plays as well.
Seemed like the general consensus among the posters here also all thought Andersson looked great. Several said he looked NHL ready / like a pro.

I didn't get that impression at all. If he was NHL ready, he should have dominated that scrimmage against inferior physically younger opponents.
That said, he could have very well been out there for just a leisure skate because he knows his performance at a development camp is likely irrelevant in his quest to make this team in the fall.

Worst part is Darren Haynes retweeted/linked to other dude's video I think. He knows full well you shot that video if he read this forum and we know he does. Pretty closely. Boo!

On a side note.... why the hell is Hunter Smith still at these things? To drive 17 years olds through the boards?

Rasmus did not really make any mistakes. Just solid all around. Could he have been more flashy, sure. However, the other guy was flashy (Kylington) and he made a number of mistakes.
If you were to combine the two, you'd have a top 10 D-man in the NHL like Karlsson. Separately, they look like they could be solid middle pairing guys if they hit their upper end potential.

You can't teach Anderssom Kylington's offensive instinct, but you can work with Kylington to improve his D. To me, one his a bluechip prospect, and the other may be a serviceable bottom pair D (nothing wrong with that).
I just seemed to get the impression on here from the people that follow outside the NHL that we won the lotto with Andersson. I can't see anything special myself.
