That's why a lot of these guys take bottom dollar contracts, they are getting paid not to play somewhere
I think it appears to have become an unwritten rule. If someone is paying you not to play there, you take less elsewhere. Partly a power play by the GM playing on the ego of an unwanted player perhaps, partly cold logic. Player with pride will be much more likely to take a show me deal. Must be a strong card against the player and agent.
Always liked Cammy here, hope he does well in all games not against the Flames.
