@TSNBobMcKenzie: RT @NYP_Brooksie: I can tell you that the reported deal between Rangers and Shattenkirk is not accurate.

If Shattenkirk is such a great defender, how do you explain -25 in his last season and a half in St. Louis?

1) St. Louis sucked
2) plus minus is not a good stat. One must look at the advanced PDO CORSI split indicator, Shattenkirk showed his defensive prowess in that stat.

But then you watch the playoffs and he looks tragic out there. It's crazy GM day, but Shattenkirk at 7 mil a year is a mistake for sure.
We'll see what the real number ends up being.

Now it just feels like you're trolling. You have a major problem with Michael Stone at 3.5x3 but 6.5x6 for Shattenkirk is a good deal? Sorry but you've lost all of what little credibility you had left.

No, but good try at reading... I remember when I was still learning. Try again. 6.5x6 was what I was expecting. 6.9x4 is a fair deal. A fair deal is about as good as you can expect in free agency. People underestimate the value of a manageable term.
But it's a moot point given that this doesn't appear to be the actual contract that was signed.

Hey, every second post on here is calling me stupid and somehow cocky at the same time, and that's without people attributing things to me I didn't say in order to tell me I'm trolling and have no credibility. I'm not the source of the hostility here.

Lol. You do realize Michael Stone was also signed in free agency right? And 4 years is manageable term but 3 isn't. Gotcha. Cool story.

Michael Stone isn't Kevin Shattenkirk, obviously. One's a top pairing defenseman and one is a bottom pairing defenseman. There was no risk of him being signed to an 8 year deal, there is with Shattenkirk. Similarly, there was no possibility of signing Shattenkirk to a 1-2 year contract, whereas there was with Stone (or should have been, because if there wasn't, then let someone else make that mistake).
There's no comparison between the two players. This should be patently obvious.

Talked to Shattenkirk camp. He hasn't decided where he will sign yet, reports otherwise are premature.

In that case he's awesome again, maybe we can sign him

Shattenkork is a 3rd pairing 5on5 guy and 1st unit power play. Reminds me of Yandle.

Giordano 6.75 Shattenkirk 6.9. Gio's actually a complete defenseman and is at least as good offensively....

Lucky with the term?
I didn't realize term was decided by the spin of the wheel, LOL.
