Sharp, Brouwer, Versteeg, Frolik. The 2010 Hawks are all coming back together.

I love Brad "don't have to consult management" Treliving.

He's been wearing a cape and tights for the Flames this week. Making other fans everywhere jelly.

The thing that worries me about Sharp is that his main strength has been his speed. When players get older, it tends to be the first thing that suffers and why such players often have sudden and steep declines.

Yeah, I will be a little nervous about the dollar-value and term on that contract.

Have been told the #Canucks are showing interest in former Vancouver Giant F Lance Bouma who was bought out by Calgary this morning.

Don't do it Bouma! For your sake!

Happy for Bouma if true, but it sure must suck to be a Canucks fan these days. Weisbrod has done well at solidifying the Nucks in mediocrity with his influence.

I want Sharp. If he is healthy, he can add a lot.

I think he's from BC too so it wouldn't totally surprise me, though I always felt that like Backlund, Bouma was one of the guys who truly hated the Canucks.

I think so too. I think he would be a better option than Ferland on the top line at the very least. Ferdaddy just isn't quite consistent enough yet. But if Sharp isn't healthy then the opportunity is there for Ferland to step up and prove himself there.

The Flames are not allowed to talk to Sharp's agent about Sharp until tomorrow though, right?

Patrick Sharp has been playing through an injury for a while.
He is expected to meet with doctors after Tuesday's game. It's unclear if this will keep him out of the lineup, but it could hurt his trade value going into Wednesday's deadline.

Patrick Sharp will undergo hip surgery on Tuesday.
Sharp has eight goals and 18 points in 48 games this season. The surgery will end Sharp's season, or at least keep him out for what little remains. This has been a very difficult season for Sharp, who had suffered two concussions and has played through his hip issue. On top of that, his father is battling leukemia. "It's been tough," Sharp said. "I knew it was going to be a challenging year with my father and what he has been going through. Looking back on the season, I probably could have handled my emotions a little better maybe."

All teams were allowed to talk to UFAs during the open courting period leading up to July 1.
