Nice! Calgary's defence is damn good on paper right now.

Awful, awful signing.

Though silver lining: it's nowhere near as bad as Russell's deal.

Not a steal by any means, but a fair deal indeed.

Amazing cap hits on our second pairing allows the Flames to spend more on the third pairing

A year longer than I expected and about 500k higher, but I still like it. Hamonic being on a sweetheart contract for the next 3 years gives us a bit of leniency.

I think that's definitely fair value. He'll be a #5 with PP time added.

In what world is this an awful signing? We started winning once Stone was acquired and really solidified that backend. Dude is a legit top four defenseman. And we have him AS OUR FIFTH.

Jesus Christ, Treliving. A week of excellent work then you overpay a third-pairing defenceman by at least 1 million/year.

You can't evaluate players during hot streak, nor cold streaks. Stone was clearly on a heater here. Not to mention salary structure.

now the guessing of who's going to take the #6 spot. I'd love for a speedy guy like Buzz Killington to grab it but I'm thinking Anderson.
