I'd say I'd take him back but if he was so bad that NJ is waiving him we probably do not want.

What in God's green earth has Brouwer done as a Flame that would ever make you think he deserves powerplay time, let alone first unit?
A better question is whether he does enough in camp to earn a spot in the opening day lineup

Another retread and one that hasn't done anything exciting in 2.5 years? No thanks...sometimes you gotta think with your head and not with your heart.
Pass on all these players being bought out and add a piece that knows how to win and brings a level of leadership ala Justin Williams.

I get the feeling Gulutzan isn't a Brouwer fan but realizes his boss brought him in for four years so he's trying to make the best of it. The fact that Gulutzan demoted him to the 4th line by the end of the season is telling that he's not afraid to slot him down but he's still going to try and salvage something from him seeing he's a player he's stuck with so expect periodic use on the powerplay and other situations.
