I don't see Talbot having another lights out year again and think he will come back down to earth. The Coilers got lucky with the Schedule and played all there games against Calgary before Gulutzan's system was fully implemented, which was the difference in the standings last year. The Coilers weren't that far ahead of the Flames and they played amazing which would be hard to duplicate whereas the Flames struggled at the start with a new coach and have a lot more depth at all positions.

If McJesus gets hurt, the Coilers are done, when Gaudreau or Giordano gets hurt, the Flames are able to carry on. I'll take the Flames lineup over the Coilers any day!

I would think that the Oilers would want to get that whole mess off of the books, though that might be impossible.

If Maroon who had a career season by far gets back to that point, he's going to probably want a big raise, and the Oilers will be out of the running.

Oiler fans were harping that Eberle would get a bunch in a trade because of his scoring, in the end he got a bust.

They must be shaking at the thought of a RNH return, I mean he played like a third line center with pillowy softness last year.

Regardless of whether its the Oilers or whomever else, if I'm McDavid I'm asking for Max salary up to UFA and then negotiating another one at that point.

He'll make a killing and hes not leaving anything on the table as salaries increase.

At that point, they're banking on revenue dollars from this expansion and the next to push the cap up at an accelerated rate.

I wouldn't be surprised if McDavid only signs two contracts after this one over his entire career.
