Seems really crazy that the market for goalies just wasn't there.

I would be interested in Schmidt though - would look great as a 3rd pairing to partner with Andersson.

Are there any plausible scenarios where the Flames trade Brouwer to Vegas? Not many RWers on that roster.

More has to be missing as well. Vegas wouldn't select Grubauer and flip him to the Flames for something like a 2nd, and instead pick Schmidt?

quite surprised at some of the picks left on the board.

this is going to be a bad team for awhile, with a big prospect and draft pick pool.

MAYBE it pays off down the road, just seems weird to me.

Some things working in Vegas favour:

-They have a legit #1 goalie
-They will have some guys that are good at shot suppression
-They will have a roster that is more than 23 deep, so they will be mostly "injury-proof"

Probably keeps them out of the basement?

It does seem that there were way better options available in teams that had no deals with Vegas but then again, what do I know.

I was quite excited about them having a good team, so I'm a little disappointed. It will at least be interesting to see full trade details and how many picks they have

Premature to start pencilling in their roster. They are likely flipping some of these guys in the next few days or weeks. Don't think we'll have anywhere near an accurate roster until after July 1st. They could be big players in UFA

Why would Vegas trade a young goal scorer for Brouwer when they could have just taken him for free? Also Brouwer has a full NTC
