You only can if someone is willing to trade you.
I personally feel these guys have zero value outside Calgary fans. Every team has 3-4 of these type players.
In 2 years both could easily be out of the NHL and playing in Europe!
Clearly they hold less value then LV placed on signing Eng.

Interesting team thus far. Certainly not the team that I would be building. Looks like they will be a draft lottery team for quite a few years.

Tim Horton's breakfast sandwiches, ketchup on steak, and walking in on your parents having sex are all things that are "disgusting." Leaked expansion draft selections are, at most, a minor inconvenience to the NHL and their big show. I'd rather have them be leaked so I can move on with my life and watch something more important than the NHL Awards like House Hunters International.

They may have had a chance if they didn't inform the players ahead of time. Buy once they decided to inform players and agents it was all going to leak out.

There's always something to be said for getting an exclusive negotiating window. Lots of times teams sign players in such a window.
A signed Engelland is probably worth 3 times more than anybody else we exposed. Plus VGK may be looking to corner the defenseman market for the next couple days leading up to the entry draft. They can literally control the trade market on defensemen for quite some time.

Come on George, you know you want to give Matt Moulson a shot. Or get some girtty leadership on the back end with Josh Gorges...

The league blew it, just as they did with the jerseys yesterday.
This while month has made the league look very mickey mouse. The draft listed should have been revealed by the league as soon as possible to avoid this kind of situation.

Next year has some pretty dynamite talent at the top of the draft, and we can't have Edmonton get them for 6 years and then Vancouver for the next 5...

Duhatcheck had speculated they'd load up on goaltenders, but loading up on defensemen makes more sense.

As I see these names leak out I feel like there are more trades and pieces moving then we know right now.
No way they left some of the names they could have drafted on the board with just the trades that we know of right now.

That was over forty years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if 95% of this board was not even born until after 1974.

Talk like this is complete nonsense until the dust from trades tomorrow and Friday settles.
Vegas is going to have too many players, too many draft picks, and is going to have to trade some of that quantity for quality and 18-22 year old players that are still prospects (and non waiver eligible).

Hyperbole much? They won't even be the worst team in the last few years let alone league history. Hard to take you seriously when you make ridiculous statements like this. Not to mention we have no idea what trades they've made, what trades they will make.
Your post sounds like a preteen.

Yeah that LV team is going to be pretty bad. Zero tier 1 players and just a couple good ones, other than that pretty much garbage. Passing guys like Vatanen and Dumba in exchange for draft picks means they really want to build through the draft.

Don't see how Engelland is a fit in LV and also why would he want to sign with LV.
It appears they don't plan to be a winning team anytime soon and obviously are stock piling picks and probably prospects.
I get they are willing to take on contact to get the pick/prospect assets but Engelland as a free agent doesn't fit that bill.... I guess at the very least they do need some NHL quality players on your team does that mean Engelland gets above market value contract from LV or he values the location so much he's willing to sacrifice a chance for team success?
