You really, badly need a poll option for those who care but are ambivalent to the jersey design? How much do they really care if they can't decide if they like it or not?

I do have an opinion. It's meh. Doesn't mean I don't like it or don't care.

Little change was promised, little change was delivered.
I liked the old one, so I like this one.

Incremental improvements. They're okay for those colors. But I don't like those colours.

On the plus side, no way in hell is Quebec taking a team with Alberta patches on their jerseys.

Simply losing those idiotic vertical pipes makes the jersey a vast improvement, with bonus points for not having Adidas' stupid stripes. Still, a massively missed opportunity. If they wanted to play it safe, I would have rather seen them take the aborted third jersey template and just replace the 'Calgary' script with the flaming C.

Yup. I need a side by side comparison, otherwise have no clue what's different, lol.

I think we'd arguably have the best jersey set in the league if we ran with the retros and used the Black Flaming Snot's as our alternates

I wouldn't mind it as a shoulder patch....way better than the flags

The decorative laces are nice. Like zippers on a shirt sleeve.

These jerseys are absolutely terrible, but only slightly less terrible than what we ran with for the last ten years.

The fake laces do look silly. Actually the more I look at the new jerseys, the less I like them. Removing the horrible piping was a major step in the right direction but at the current pace they are making changes we may see a new arena in Calgary before we see a nice new Flames jersey. In fact I'm not sure we will ever see a newly designed Flames jersey that looks good. We are talking about the people that brought us the flags and piping on the outgoing jersey, the McDonalds heritage classic jerseys, the alternate "Calgary" jersey with a redundant Flaming C under "Calgary". As long as the same people are making jersey decisions for this team we may have to get used the fact that the Flames will never have a really nice jersey outside of the retros.

The horse head is a relic of the 90's EXTREME edgy culture that should be left in the past. It's goofy to the max, not to be taken seriously. Just stare at it for a minute. It's awful.

I don't think it's that bad. In Winnipeg for example it would be stupid but this is the Stampede city after all so the horse head has a bit of meaning to it.

Now that there's a side by side comparison... I almost didn't notice there was a side by side comparison. Pretty minor changes. So I guess they look good, because I didn't have an issue with the previous design. /shrug
Still wish they went with the "retro" design.

Piping is gone so that's good, but still need a whole redesign that brings back traditional striping and gets rid of the flags

A well designed horse head, well OK. One with extreme flaming nostrils? Ugh. So bad. I still don't see why we need a horse though when we have the Stampeders. Unless you are going for synergies, in which case maybe the Stampeders logo should have flames shooting out it's arse?

There's a very specific reason why we kept the same jersey for 10 years and have now released a slightly modified version, while at the same time the Calgary script jersey was only around for 3 seasons: These ones sell.
The Flames brass don't care about public opinion or letter writing or whatever else. They care about what's going to sell. If these don't sell they'll be more motivated to release a better jersey. However, if people continue to purchase these jerseys, they'll continue to run with them.
Sure, some might make the argument that new retros or an entirely new design might sell more, but that's speculative. These jerseys continue to be the most popular jerseys the team has had in terms of sales.
