I was surprised to see Koekoek available... likely he's the one being referred to here??

Might be Koekoek or Jake Dotchin. Sounds like the Lightning are very high on Dotchin.

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
George McPhee says he has "at least" six trades completed.
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
Vegas is still talking to a couple teams about trades related to the expansion draft.
Nick Cotsonika @cotsonika
McPhee agreed to speak today with a few GMs who had travel issues yesterday. Has at least six trades lined up.

as expected, Vegas to flip some of the d-men they pick:
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
George McPhee: "We're going to have to move some defencemen because we're going to claim a bunch."

Dotchin is probably the one referred to here, as he has passed Koekkoek on the Lightning depth chart. Dotchin stepped in flawlessly last year and played very well on the top pair (mostly) with Victor Hedman. For a sixth-rounder to be as good as he was, as consistently as he played, Tampa had to be very pleased. And obviously very affordable on his entry-level contract. Koekkoek has the top 10 pick tag, but still can't seem to stick with the big club completely.
If they hit a homer on the Drouin trade, their blueline is in good shape at this point in time moving forward (in terms of flexibility/depth/prospects):
Hedman
Stralman
Coburn
Dotchin (assuming he's the one a deal is in place for)
Garrison
Sustr
Sergachev
Koekkoek
Hajek
Thomas

Were previous expansion drafts this exciting? Maybe in the inner hockey circles before social media was available, I could imagine.
This is great and I am actually excited about this. So does the expansion draft happen, then the trades have to be approved by the NHL post draft? Tomorrow should be a fun day. I am glad we aren't likely to lose anyone we can't replace to be honest (if we want to even replace them).
I hope the Flames are in on this to get a good defenseman from LVK.

And the VGK will be short on centres, and the Habs have one to trade, a russian one too to fit in with their KHL imports.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
VGK say they have six trades in place. If we're speculating - emphasis on speculating - likely to be with ANA, CBJ, CHI, NYI, PIT, TB.

Replying to @TSNBobMcKenzie
There is also considerable speculation MIN has or will have deal with VGK to lay off Scandella/Dumba in exchange for a prospect.

Galchenyuk is neither really a Russian or a center at this point, if that's who we're talking about.
Born in American, with only an American passport and considers himself American. While also struggling heavily as a center compared to the wing in the NHL. If he was able to become a legit center, I think the Habs probably hold onto him if it's not an attitude thing.

Would have to think it's a pretty good prospect to lay off Dumba & Scandella. Alex Tuch or Joel Eriksson Ek?

Dotchin for sure. They're really high on him in Tampa. Think he finished the year on the top pair with Hedman. He's the same dirty sob that tried to concuss Chucky with a blindside hit too.

yeah... same as what i was thinking... like with Anaheim, it would better be a pretty sweet deal to prevent me from picking Vantanen or Manson...

Maybe the Russian who tore up the WJC? Kirill Kaprizov?
