If most of their announcements were going to be DLC for games already released, they probably could've not had a press conference. I'm sure we'll get one or two new ones at the end here but... yeah. Hard to justify.
Do you think we will get to consoles every year? I kinda figure we're into this 2-4 year cycle of them now. Probably stable going forward? Except Nintendo because they do whatever the #### they want.
It's difficult to say, but I do think that until there is reason to move to an entirely new media or development platform (like DVD to BRD or Sony switching after the PS3) that an upgrade cycle is more natural than generation shifts.
As I said, I'm interested to see how it does. I've enjoyed watching some of the reactions here and around the web from people as to why they might upgrade and I'm curious to see how they feel about it when they actually play it.
You're right about Nintendo. They're all over the place. It wouldn't surprise me if we see 3 different Switch models in the next 6 years, none with any meaningful upgrades.
Day one for Wolfenstein. The New Order and The Old Blood were such amazingly fun games.
Same here. I'm not a trophy hunter but I bagged the platinum in both of them, as they're some of the top sleeper hits of the generation so far. I'm all over the next one.
My feelings on the X are very similar to the Playstation Pro. It's great that it's so strong, but everything is going to be developed for the PS4/XBOne and then lathered in better textures. Valuable sure, but for the price they're asking it feels like a niche product for those with 4K TVs. It'll be interesting to see how these iterative updates go in the console world... we aren't used to this.

I have a feeling that many gamers that enjoy shiny things(4k, HDR , 60fps) will go out and buy the XBONEX, while casual gamers will purchase the XBONES. I for one will be a day one adopter as it provides me with the closest graphics and performance to a PC while allowing me to still play all my games with my friends that either dont have the money or the time to put into purchasing the new console.
I think it is a solid step in removing Console "generations" and implement the console "family" they keep talking about.
Also can't wait for Xbox games in backwards compatibility! Fuzion Frenzy and Crimson Skies! cant wait! Also secretly hoping for one of my favorite games of all time to be ported Hunter: The Reckoning
