I can kind of imagine that they didn't want to go back to retros because they felt they could get more sales from introducing a new jersey versus just shifting the retros (which had already been in circulation) to the full-time home jersey.

Since when are the Canadian and Alberta flags "terrible"?! 
(I know you probably mean the use of them on a Flames jersey.  )

I for one am glad they're keeping the black, and not going full retro for primary jerseys. Too much red. It needs some black to break it up, or it ends up being orangy looking, even though it's the same red. But I know for sure I'm going against the grain, as for reasons that are beyond me, people seem to like the retro jerseys a lot.

Like I don't know what kind of idiots are working there right now. Do they have focus groups that actually know what they are doing?
Seriously, it is like a 75-25 split in favour of retros.
I bed the white retro would have been a massive seller.
Like WTF.
I was getting confident that they were going to do the right thing.

There was a guy in the main jersey thread that claimed he was working for the Flames and said the new jersey would have the black C and flags and I didn't believe him.

If the Flames jersey stays the same, and ONLY drops the flags, I will be happy.
The patch on the (universally-hated) western-style jersey was perfect, use that one.

Not universally hated. That jersey was hot fire. The only mistake was having the Flaming C on the front instead of just the wordmark. Oh, and one of the digits in the typeface was a little wonky, either the 2 or the 5. Other than that, solid-gold-bomb.

On these forums maybe. You know there are Flames fans outside of these forums, right? CP isn't the end-all and be-all of Flames fan opinions.
Keep the retros for special nights. Black 'C' for everything else. Less piping. Clean up the shoulder patches to something else. Boom.

Apparently the Flames spent a lot of time with focus groups to design our old third jerseys, and look how well those turned out.
Of course, it depends who they use in these focus groups, or if Ken King just does what he wants in the end anyway.

I would argue the CP community is a very good sample size for overall Flames fans.
