PROVE to me with evidence that he doesnt just speak his mind, PROVE to me with evidence he is no more then a blithering idiot, PROVE to me with evidence he isnt just a goof ball that found his niche doing a TV segment during hockey games?
Well dont bother Johhny because you cant. You can have your oppinion, dont try and come across like its the gospel beacuse in your head it makes sense, you have no leg to stand on here.

Really. More like you have ZIP to stand on.
Fact: Cherry has no education
Fact: Cherry has made a pile of money
Fact: Cherry has achieved FAME as well
Fact: His fame and fortune despite the lack of qualifications
Fact: He has people watching who supposedly hate him
The evidence is piled high in my favour. You on the other hand have ZIP. Absolutely nothing but your completely unsubstantiated opinion that schtick we can all see(and which you admit he does) is from the heart.
Sorry but ALL the real facts are plain to see -- Just turn on the tube and presto there he sits!!!

I love Don. It is like watching your crazy old Grandfather up there with his wacky opinions.
He may be bombastic, but he is a better coach than anyone on this board. Unless you managed to get to the finals twice, like Don did.
French guys and Europeans do wear more visors than North Americans. So what? So does Dion Phaneuf.

An excellent article on Don Cherry. U either like the guy or you hate the guy, he might be rough around the edges, but he is where he is today from hard work, maybe some luck too, but he earned what he has.
It is like with anything else you see on TV, u dont like it, turn it off or try another channel.
Don't always equate an education with where you go in life. And dont forget also that Cherry is in his 70's. He comes from the age where not all finished high school and went on to post secondary education.
U might also be interested in knowing that his son Tim received a kidney transplant from his sister and that Don Cherry works tirelessly for the Kidney Foundation and for Organ Donation. The man has a heart you know and in general, wears his Canadian pride visibly on his sleeve.

And he has some hockey knowledge, notice what he says about the post lockout era of NHL hockey. He would really emphasize special teams, the PP and PK.
And what has everyone been crabbing about here forever, was it not Mumbles and the lack of production from our powerplay? Maybe the Flames should hire Cherry!!!

My beef with Cherry is when he strays from sports into political/social commentary.
My tax dollars should not be used so that a guy can promote his political agenda during a hockey broadcast.

Yep I'm always amazed by those who profess a dislike for Cherry. Ahhh they don't like the guy so logic would say they don't watch him, or read about him or yep just flick the remote. Yet they just seem engrossed by everything he does. I think they are closet Cherry fans myself.

Well sure but that's not really what we are discussing. If we want to discuss all the ways the government pee away our dollars, that is an entire other matter.
I just don't like my tax dollars going to giving a guy a forum to talk about non-hockey stuff on a hockey broadcast.

I also see some irony in the choice of avatar and the professed dislike of an 'inflammatory idiot' like Mr. Cherry.

Your funny. You just keep evading the point you intial said was a "fact". Your intial claim was that he is so smart and crafty everything he does is one big dog and pony show just to endear himself to some and enrage others.
Yet all of your facts have ZIP to do with that. All of your "facts" although true, have nothing at all to do with your point, I am beginning to question either your ability to read, or maybe to comphrend what you read and form an argument.
Please without going off an another sideways tangent on how I am inferior to you, in your next post show me a direct corelation between your above stated "facts" and how any of them prove what he does is an ACT as opposed to just being himself. Thats all I want to see from you, if you cant provide it, your wrong, simple and easy as that.

Our tax dollars go to the CBC so they can entertain and inform Canadians like us. Don Cherry is entertaining, whether he is talking about hockey or politics. Sure, not everyone shares that opinion, and you are free to turn it off if they are failing to entertain or inform.
