Gonzaga Basketball fans - Ronny Turiaf update
I know there's a few Gonzaga fans on this board, just wanted to let you know Ronny Turiaf had a great game last night 23 pts - 9 rebounds. This guy is so enthusiastic, he is the first guy up off the bench during timeouts - jumping up and down. He is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Laker land. Hopefully his heart troubles are behind him and he has a long successful career!

Thanks a ton socal!! Much appreciated!
Rony has come so far in just a few years, for him to be even playing basketball at this level is a huge feat in itself. He's a perfect Phil Jackson guy, and it's not hard to see why this guy is a fan favorite. The guy gets excited every time his team scores, he looks like a 5 year old kid on the bench.

How about Adam Morrison today. 16 points in the first half off the bench.

Loving the GU love in this thread.
Morrison with 21 now off the bench in only 18 minutes at the end of the 3rd quarter. 8-13 shooting 3-6 3 point shooting. Bobcats (my new 2nd favorite NBA team) up by 10.

Morrison only ends up with 21, the Bobcats only manage 13 points in the 4th quarter. Coming off the bench he's still the Bobcats best player

Turiaf was named player of the game tonight in the Lakers victory over Seattle. I believe he scored 18 pts but with the Lakers up by 4 with 55 seconds to go he made 2 unbelievable blocks to deny the Sonics. The crowd and announcers were going nuts!

Maybe Morrison's most impressive game as a pro. Only 13 points tonight off the bench but maybe putting to rest the Amo can't play defense critics.
"But James, who scored 35 against the Spurs, never got into a rhythm and was held to just 16 points. He shot just 3-of-13 from the floor as rookie Adam Morrison kept him off balance, forcing James to get his points at the free-throw line, where he made nine of his 10 attempts"

Lakers got smoked by the Sonics at home but I did notice even Kobe had a smile after a pass inside to Turiaf and a hardworking effort by him to make a basket.

Anyone else noticed the Zags were listed as 'others receiving votes' in the preseason poll?
No respect.

The Zags always get snubbed by the commity not to mention the WCC as a confrence is underrated. However, I can't talk about last years season and how we should be ranked because it just brings back one of the worst loss's I've ever experinced as a sports fan.
This years team has a ton of potential. Ravio certainly has the talent to be a top pg, hopefully he can get over his tough season last year. Pargo, Cespides, Pendegraft and Mallon are solid and can take big steps this year. The wildcard for the Zags this year will be Josh Heytvelt (sp?) Guy has some sick natural athleticism, and after his injury last year he really showed some promise. The Zags have had a superstar replace another superstar for a long time now (Dickau, Stepp, Morrison) I think Heytvelt could be that star for the Zags.
The Zags are sure adding some canadian talent too, Cespides from Montreal, Theo Davis from Toronto, and I beleive another of the years recruit was from BC. First game for the Zags friday night and it's on in calgary
