To be fair London's Mayor just let 2 major terrorist attacks happen on his watch. Theresa May should be ashamed too.
The Mayor has nothing to do with this type of security. If anything Theresa May has a huge blame for this by cutting over 20000 police officers from the force recently.
RUSSIAN MILITARY INTELLIGENCE executed a cyberattack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before last November’s presidential election, according to a highly classified intelligence report obtained by The Intercept.
The top-secret National Security Agency document, which was provided anonymously to The Intercept and independently authenticated, analyzes intelligence very recently acquired by the agency about a months-long Russian intelligence cyber effort against elements of the U.S. election and voting infrastructure. The report, dated May 5, 2017, is the most detailed U.S. government account of Russian interference in the election that has yet come to light.
While the document provides a rare window into the NSA’s understanding of the mechanics of Russian hacking, it does not show the underlying “raw” intelligence on which the analysis is based. A U.S. intelligence officer who declined to be identified cautioned against drawing too big a conclusion from the document because a single analysis is not necessarily definitive.

This is a recurring theme with Trump, it was like that with his NATO speech as well where he omitted and change things in his speech, after discussions with Bannon, that went counter to what all his military advisers suggested and what he originally agreed to.
Trump will do whatever he wants or Bannon tells him against the advice of all people he works with. Trump WH staff should just expect him to throw them under the bus for every possible major decision at the worst possible time.
White House saying that Trump has decided not to use executive privilege to block Comey's testimony. He likely wouldn't be able to use it anyway at this point since he already tweeted about it. Blocking the testimony would also make him look even more guilty. Man, what a s--t show.
President Donald Trump will not try to block fired FBI Director James Comey from testifying before Congress, opting not to invoke executive privilege, spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday at the White House briefing.
"The President's power to assert executive privilege is well-established. However, in order to facilitate a swift and thorough examination of the facts sought by the Senate intelligence committee, President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey's scheduled testimony," said a statement issued by the White House.

Executive privilege is a presidential power that stems from the idea that the commander-in-chief should be able to enjoy honest conversations with his aides and advisers. The power dates back to US vs. Nixon, the 1974 Supreme Court case.
White House advisers had previously said that Trump was exploring his legal options regarding Comey.
"The claim of executive privilege requires that the communications in question be confidential. Arguably, Trump has himself breached that confidentiality," Harvard Law professor Noah Feldman said in a Bloomberg op-ed.
