Anyway, back atcha - does Pittsburgh win without Malkin? Seems to me he had more points than Crosby in 09. Last year he had but one less.
How many cups does LA win without Kopitar? How many does Detroit win without Datsyuk or Lidstrom or Zetterberg? Does Boston win without Chara and Kreiji? Chicago needed Hossa to get over the top.

OK then - i'll just end this by noting our team only has a couple europeans on the active roster - so i'm not the only one who thinks this way.

How many cups has the current team won?
Maybe they need to change their thinking, at least that's what Malkin is saying...

What a great site. Am always curious at this time of year what picks we still hold or acquired for future drafts.

So, apparently the news of Jyrki Jokipakka heading off to Europe was wrong... not a surprise considering the source (Garrioch):
http://www.iltalehti.fi/nhl/201705312200175396_nh.shtml
He'll be staying in North America next season. It wouldn't surprise me to see him sign on with a team in need of defensive depth like Winnipeg or Florida. At age 25, he's still young enough that there will be some interest on a two-way deal, at least.

I can't seem to find that on the Internet, I suspect that very few, or maybe even only one idiot, has referred to the "Williams Sisters" the "Williams Brothers".

I just want to say one thing about the whole "Sedin Sisters" comment: Why should it be bad to be a girl hockey player? I know some girls who play hockey a lot better than most guys I know.
It's just one of those things people say to get under other peoples skin. It really isn't that big of a deal unless you let it be a big deal.

So any trade rumours or speculation? Came in to find questions on the Sedins masculinity, whether or not Crosby wins without Malkin, Paul McLean leaving the Ducks and a recipe for quiche 😜😂

Honestly this debate about the Sedins and calling them sisters is getting old. Every one of the posters who are going politically correct on their stance have probably used or chuckled about it at some point but it has gotten old now and gender equality now is a big topic as it should be.
I think the main reason why it was said wasn't misogynistic it was a jab at how soft the Sedin's play and women generally have softer spirits than men. Not as big of a deal as people are making it and definitely not misogyny.

As usual, I love the old guys in here explaining to everyone what is misogynistic and what isn't.
Calling them "sisters" is literally the definition of misogyny. Grow up.

That's some impressive mental gymnastics. It would seem you are suggesting that no no no - people aren't using that term as a sign of disrespect - because there are great girl hockey players.
Which is bunk.
People using it are clearly trying to make fun of the players by calling them women. I don't see how that is even debatable.
It is not dissimilar from calling them "gay". Which wouldn't be acceptable any more. This isn't different.

Calling them sisters is dumb. Saying that is the literal definition of misogyny is wrong.

The Vancouver is no good thread had about 5 pages of this debate less than 2 months ago. Does it really need to be rehashed in a thread that has a lot of interest for members of this forum?
Let's all move on.
Speaking of the Canucks there are rumors they are in discussions with at least Dallas about moving up in the draft.

Re: the Sedin "sisters"
It is the intent, more than the exact word, that determines that this is misogynistic.
The female word is used in a disparaging way, as if to imply that women are weaker/inept/incapable. It is the same as calling something "gay" to disparage is homophobic.
Granted, this is the sort of thing I used to do, until I learned more/talked to more people and understood the impact of language.
EDIT: looks like Jiri and I were thinking the same thing and posting at the same time

If I was the Dallas Stars I'd be looking at Anaheim, the 3rd for a Dman makes too much sense.

I don't think that the Canucks really have the type of assets to move up.
I mean would number 5 and number 33 be enough to move up to 3 in a weak draft?

Not so sure there is a prize at #3 that would be so much better than #5. Might still get the guy you want, in fact. But go ahead Nucks, waste a few extra assets to move up.

I don't get it, so it's misogynistic to think that female's are weaker than males?
Isn't that just a fact?
