I'm holding hope that they'll go full-time retro, or have a retro inspired jersey due to them dropping the previous season third to wear the retro jersey during marquee games this season. If they're not intending to re-establish the retro theme for the next season, then what was the point? (Not that there needs to be one)

It would be HIGHLY disappointing if they didn't go back to the retros or at least a retro theme.

As long as they have red pants, red helmets, and red gloves, I will consider it a win.

It would be nice but hearing some rumors swirling right now its making me doubt that the recent retro marketing was just to appease fans for what's coming.

These changes, Creamer reports, will not involve a primary logo switch and could be simply minor tweaks to the current look.

If those reports are indeed accurate, it looks like we'll be stuck with the black for a while yet. Maybe clean them up to look something like this? I guess I could live with that - reminiscent of the '04 team with some of the good parts from the most recent thirds (shoulders, numbers and lace up collar). What do you guys think?

a) white C instead of black
b) horizontal instead of the '04 chevron striping
c) home jersey with shoulder patch but not the shoulders black

you'd have a return to retro with the black and the third jersey logo

Not entirely sold on the black pants for the away kit, but jersey-wise that's your best one yet, IMO.

However I think we'll never see anything that decent on-ice, in my lifetime at least.

Another beautiful rendering. Would buy even thought it is not my favourite of your designs, like the retro styled ones better.

I'm ok with the black staying if it has to but would rather see straight stripes like on the socks than the Vs and have them thicker... Hate anything approaching piping.

Very nice. I wonder how they would look with red gear instead of black. Even if just for the whites.

I would suggest removing the yok.

But I suspect this is what it will look like, if we don't go back to the retros.

I remember back in '03 when they introduced the red home jersey, Conroy said something to the Herald along the lines of "switching to red is great, but I wish we would go all the way and have red gloves and helmets." Does anyone else remember this or am I out to lunch? If so, maybe there's hope since he's now on the management team.

I wonder if they would ever do something like:

1980's based whites (no Black) + 2004 based Black C reds.

Then down the line when Adidas starts adding a multiple new uniforms per team (like the NBA)... Retro + Alternates. within a year or two..
