a little surprised that Murray got the start, as MAF has carried this team for most of the playoffs...
that said, Murray is the guy they'll be protecting in the expansion draft, so it kinda makes sense to have him take over as he will be their #1 goalie moving forward imo

I shouldn't be surprised but pretty bad officiating in this one so far.
The refs miss an obvious high stick on Ottawa and soon after Kessel draws a slashing penalty by flaying his arms around like he is trying to take off. Later Karlsson gets slashed twice with no call turning over the puck leading to the goal. Right after that Ruhwedel gets high sticked and then has his head targeted on a massive hit by Ryan. The only call is 2 minutes to Cole for retaliating.

May 19, game four of the eastern conference final.
I can't believe just how bad officiating has gotten. Just call the rule book. Get rid of all this dangerous, skill-limiting stick play. It produces garbage hockey and limits the amount of skill on display.
It's awful, and it's a problem.
Although it is hard to call Ryan on that one - Ruhwedel started to reach out for the puck at an awful time - but the high stick was clearly seen and not called, it's garbage.

The reffing in this game has been nothing short of atrocious so far. Missed penalty not calling Kunitz for his slashes just before the Pens score, then somehow the Sens end up on a PP at the end of the 1st despite a high stick that cut the Pens d-man's nose and a clear as day head shot by Bobby Ryan on the same Pens D-man.

That wasn't an intentional headshot at all. Bent over to reach for the puck at the wrong time. If he doesn't reach out last minute thats square to the chest.

I've really fallen out of like with Hrudey this season and especially during the playoffs. I almost don't want him back on the Flames broadcast next year.

I like Hrudey, and I'll take him any day over Garrett thats for sure. It was painful listening to Garett's drivel during the Calgary/Anaheim series. Be careful what you wish for.
