Wishful thinking. He'll just lie and everyone will move in. It's literally what happens every single time with this monkey.

Congressional GOP: Trump was just sharing his hopes and dreams with Comey, the President is allowed to hope that the investigations end. Until we get our tax cuts for the rich anyway.

Trump isn't going anywhere, I can't understand why people continually think "This is it!" after all the stuff he's gotten away with so far. The only thing possibly removing him from office will be him stepping down for "health reasons" (dementia), which will allow all his corrupt and criminal dealings to be swept under the rug. No way does he actually ever face criminal charges or even an impeachment hearing, the GOP is far too self-serving to ever allow that to happen

GOP Senator Burr just told reporters he won't try to obtain the memo, suggested the NYT should prove it's existence instead.

NBC reporting Comey plans on going public with memo's content.
That ####ty Tom Clancy novel is getting a bit more exciting!

It really makes no sense. It's been "this is it!" since the primaries.

One thing I learned at DOJ about Comey: he leaves a protective paper trail whenever he deems something inappropriate happened. Stay tuned.

The GOP would have to grow a spine first. Unless Trump's actions directly jeopardize their ability to maintain power, they'll continue to kiss his arse and go along with whatever horrible crap he does, like the shameless d-bags that they are.

This seems like a good time to dig up the GOP hierarchy of allegiance, for those who need a reminder:
Self >>> party >>>>>>>> constituents

Nothing will come from this. The GOP has painted themselves into a corner by supporting all of Trump's moves so far. They have zero spine and their voters are morons.

They have no spine, but things will change quickly when the polls scare them enough

How are they "in a corner?" They may have a dilemma -- a choice between unappealing options -- but they still have options. For some inexplicable reason, they still think that it's better to piss off 80% of the country than to upset Trump's "base." But it's not like each little transgression that leaks out puts them further into a corner -- it actually helps make the dilemma easier to resolve.

I am hoping the difference this time is that he just managed to piss off a bunch of people at the CIA and the FBI all in less than a week. Not the brightest thing to do. Sure the GOP won't do anything until their hand is forced but my bet is there is enough hard evidence now that Trump and friends are properly effed.
Its kind of like watching a slow motion train wreck. Except the train derailed a couple months ago and is still managing to chug along meanwhile the conductor has decided to throw grenades in front of the train hoping to get it back on track.

So, Trump threatens Comey "you better hope I didn't record this!", meanwhile, Comey recorded all of it?

I'm out of evens to don't. What could possibly go wrong...
President Trump is set to give a major speech about radical ideology to leaders of more than 50 Muslim countries when he makes his first official visit to Saudi Arabia at the end of this week, his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, said Tuesday.
“The speech is intended to unite the broader Muslim world against common enemies of all civilization and to demonstrate America's commitment to our Muslim partners,” McMaster said.
Trump will also participate in the opening of a center intended to fight radicalism and promote moderation.
“By establishing and operating this center, our Muslim friends, including Saudi Arabia, are taking a firm stand against extremism and those who use a perverted interpretation of religion to advance their criminal and political agendas,” McMaster said.

Also what's this about Merrick Garland for heading the FBI? Sure, appoint him to a job so they can fire him 2 days later? And so they can replace him with a conservative judge? Cmon...
