Trump calls Chris Cuomo a "chained lunatic," and Don Lemon "perhaps the dumbest person is broadcasting." And claims he's the only reason Colbert is still on the air:
You see a no-talent guy like Colbert. There’s nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching. And it only builds up my base. It only helps me, people like him. The guy was dying. By the way they were going to take him off television, then he started attacking me and he started doing better. But his show was dying. I’ve done his show. … But when I did his show, which by the way was very highly rated. It was high highest rating. The highest rating he’s ever had.
Dana Boente, acting attorney general, is there too. This is ongoing right now, Burr and Warner both left the Senate Intelligence briefing to attend. Press clustered outside the room.

Looks to be nothing, at least for the time-being.
I was wondering about this part...
Quote:
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was seen arriving at the Senate Intelligence Committee's secure office spaces Thursday afternoon.
Trump on an interview with NBC/CNN says he was going to fire Comey regardless of whatever recommendation from the AG/Deputy AG. Clear obstruction and cause was found to be an excuse afterwards.

Trump says he decided to fire Comey even before meeting with AG and Deputy AG: “I was going to fire regardless of recommendation”

NYT had a quote today from someone who said that the thing that made Trump particularly furious about Comey's testimony last week was his comment about being mildly nauseous about influencing the election. In Trump's mind, that comment was an attempt to taint Trump's own win as not being wholly the product of Trump's brilliance. That's probably what Trump means by grandstanding here. Which makes total sense with what we know about Trump's ego... in the end, it all comes back to the election as the pinnacle of his life and any slight to that is a grievous offense.
Thus seems as good a time as any to remind everyone:
Careful in believing stories from new sources that confirm what you believe. Be skeptical and don't believe stories until it comes from reputable sources.
There's a ton of left wing "Alex Jones" types trying to make a name for themselves on blogs like Patribotics that are claiming all kinds of things from "sources". There's enough fake news out there, let's not propagate it

It's being reported now the acting director of the FBI will continue the investigation into Russia but will cut future communications on the matter with the White House.
Quote:
The acting head of the FBI has said the agency will continue to investigate alleged links between Russia and Donald Trump's campaign – but will not routinely update the White House.
Andrew McCabe, who assumed leadership of the investigative agency following the firing of James Comey, said the ousting of the former director would not impact the ongoing probe. He also said it had sufficient resources to pursue the investigation.
“The work of the men and women of the FBI. continues despite any changes in circumstances,” he said, responding to Florida senator Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida.

What exactly is this in response to? I haven't seen anyone in this thread other than our dearly departed Trump/Putin trolls reporting things from questionable sources.

This is going to get interesting. Several days ago I was speaking with an individual with connections to FinCEN and they were saying that Ryan and McConnell could be part of the Trump web because of their connections to fundraising. Seems both may have been complicit in funds from foreign interest (Russia) being channeled into the Republican coffers. This could be explosive if it goes down the way described.
What I'm seeing on twitter, not on here. My feed is exploding with people retweeting unsubstantiated stuff and like this thread the way it is
That's on your twitter feed, not on this site. Maybe apply that to your twitter and not lecture us on things we aren't doing?
Btw, I agree with you. I had to tell a cohort to pump their brakes on information they were getting from twitter as a well. There's a ton of circular references out there right now. Follow the links back to the primary source before getting excited about something.

Huckabee doing the press briefing again, lol. I'm now convinced that Spicey has had a nervous breakdown and he's been committed somewhere. He was hiding in the bushes the other day fer christ sakes, so it's safe to assume he's gone off the deep end.
