Being a Caps fan must be frustrating as hell. It's one thing to have playoff failure when you're a rebuilding team like the Flames, but it's gotta be even more infuriating when you have a stacked team every year like the Caps do. You have to wonder if they might blow it up after this.

If the Oilers win tonight I don't think I can watch any more hockey this season. That'll be it for me. I like the Predators, but I'm just going to assume the finals are Oilers/Pens and that the hockey gods officially hate me. Since when do the gods approve of winning through failure? What justice is their in this world when those two teams make it to the finals by being gifted elite talent through the draft.

Great play by wilson in my opinion. Get Orpik off the ice for a big part of the remainder of the game.

why is ovie on the third line? Its mind boggling not to have a player like that with a playmaker.

i think this was their last shot to be honest, which is one of the reasons i was hoping to see them finally break through...

the team will probably be much different next year

Ovechkin sells tickets. I don't see Ovechkin ever being dealt for that reason alone; ownership won't do it.

No choice but to make big changes.

Oshie, Williams, Winnik, Alzner, Shattenkirk all UFAs.
Orlov, Schmidt, Burakovsky, Kuznetsov notable RFAs.

Before someone can win, someone has to decide to lose.

It looks like a lot the Caps made that choice after the second goal.

Well at least now Ovechkin can go play at the World's. Gets a chance to win for mother Russia in a meaningless tournament :x

Well that was a completely nauseating opening to the Oilers/Ducks game! Now the media is clearly on board with comparing this Oilers team to the Gretzky Oilers. I hope they fall so hard next season!!!!

If it comes to it you better beat Edmonton Crosby! If this is for the greater good then so be it.
