Finland still up 3-0. Czech controlled the play most of the period, but very few real scoring chances either way.

When Gaudreau plays with talented skill players he is beyond dominant. The only player that has some skill Johnny plays with on the Flames is Monahan and he is more of a pure goal scorer than a skill player. The Flames desperately need another high end skill player to play with Gaudreau.

I just mentioned in the trade rumour thread that the Flames are doing him a disservice saddling Johnny with wingers like Ferland and Chiasson. We will never see Johnny's best in Calgary as long as he has to do all the heavy lifting by himself.

Is either Gaudreau or Tkachuk capable of switching to RW? I think getting them to play together adds the perfect mix of skill and some physicality to that line.

Gaudreau is playing RW in the world championship right now
I kind of want to see a Gaudreau-Backlund-Monahan line though

Wow, the Czechs just tied it up with 1:51 left in the third.

I wish! That would be an amazing match but I am sure the price would be very high.

Czech beats Finland in a shootout.
LOL at refs who didn't know how many rounds they have in the shootout, players had to tell them the game was over

I really want to see Gaudreau moved to RW this season. I think the right side in general just seems more suited for smaller, faster, skilled players.

I know the 3M line was pretty damn good last year, but I really want to see Tkachuk/Monahan/Gaudreau get some time together.

Which is why Hudler is so sorely missed I think.
I'm not advocating bringing him back at all. Just saying when Johnny was a rookie, Hudler was the type of player Gaudreau needed and could still thrive with.
