The high tempo, everyone aboard mentality is what is carrying them through. It also doesn't hurt that they have a tremendously talented top 6 either. Edmonton or Anaheim are going to be hard pressed to beat them if they can seal the deal on Friday.

.951 after 10 games. I'd say he's a huge reason why they are where they are now.

I hope that Nashville can keep their momentum going. I like the makeup of their team.

The whole team has been playing terrific hockey. The point is that as good as Rinne has been, he is not being depended upon to steal games the Predators have no business winning. They have outscored their opponents 2:1 through two series' now.

Agreed -- I would have no issue seeing a guy like PK Subban lift the Stanley Cup. I'd actually enjoy that very much -- his "Day with the Cup" would be legendary.

So does Nashville start on the road regardless who wins the other series?

Sure, but those are historical numbers he's putting out there, also they are outscoring their opponents 2:1 sure, but the games are ending in the 2-1 / 3-1 area.

Yes, but I don't believe it matters. Nashville has a winning record on the road, and has not yet lost at home.

Yes, but their underlying metrics are solid: 4/8 among teams in the second round in shot-attempts; 4/8 in SAT%; 4/8 in points/penalty by 60 mins.
Like I said, Rinne has been excellent, but there is much more to the story of the Predators' playoff success.

You are correct, it's a great team and such a fun team to watch, also their fans are probably the best in the NHL. Go Predators Go, I'm so in the bandwagon right now!

Smashville success is good news for the Flames as well, I think we're closer to their team model than most others out there. we're just missing the steady goaltending and and cheap/young bottom half of skaters. ok so maybe that's more than just a couple of tweaks, but at least it proves you can be a powerhouse without any PPG+ forwards, as long as your back end is strong and no line or pair is a big liability.

Nashville's defence is amazing. The Flames need to be much better, and I believe that this is the next hole in the lineup to be shored up after goaltending.
But then, I also think the Flames have enough forward depth on the roster and in the system that they can probably compensate slightly for a weaker defence.

Another reason why I'd like to get Bishop. Puck handling skill for a goalie is so under rated IMO. Watching Rinne get to dump ins over and over against the Blues and thwart so many chances for them to get in and fore check the Preds D hard.
Well, Bishop is even better at handling the puck than Rinne IMO.
