The scoring would be forgivable if he was contributing in other areas. Physicality? Non existent. Defensive play? Horrific. Shot generation? Abysmal.

Didn't seem like he was doing much of anything out there all season. Hopefully that changes if he's still a Flame next season.

I agree he was simply terrible last year. My only hope is his past history with McPhee gets his contract off our books. Get out of jail free card for Treliving

There is no way Vegas takes Stajan. Staj is a great guy and a great teammate, but his best before date has passed for both the Flames and likely Vegas as well. I believe both Wotherspoon and Kulak would be considered good assets for Vegas, and certainly Brouwer for some veteran leadership and presence. Shinkaruk is also a very strong candidate and in fact I think the strongest although I did not vote for him. Chiasson is a good skater and has a big body, but nothing else.

I picked Brouwer cause I want him gone. However he does have a chance to redeem himself next season, and a good contributing Brouwer who can play in the middle 6 RW position is better to have, then having no Brouwer and yet another RW slot to fill up.

-Brouwer
-Shinkaruk
-Stajan

That is my top 3, in that order I think LV will look at.

From what I've read, the Flames are in a pretty good spot and aren't going to lose a top player. I'm too lazy to do the work. But what are some really good players around the league that are a threat to be taken? All I really know of is Murray in Pittsburgh. But are there any legit top line/top 6 players or top D that could possibly be snagged? Which teams are in the worst position to take a big hit?

I suspect the Ducks have to lose either Rackell or Silfverberg. Of the rest, maybe Moulson, Plekanec, Kulemin, Eller, Cammaleri.

The Ducks aren't losing Rackell or Silvferberg. They'll lose a D but probably not to Vegas but rather by trading Vatanen.

That would make more sense. But as is, they are losing one of those forwards.

With all the talk of "teams x, y, z will rather trade guy a, b, c before losing them for nothing", I wonder if there's really going to be enough trading partners to go around, especially for D-men.

Making trades is already proven to be very hard in the cap world, and the expansion draft narrows down the field even further.

Not with a 7-3-1 they won't.

If they can't move a Dman I'd say they're more likely to leave Vatanen exposed than Rackell or Silfverberg. Could be wrong I guess, just doesn't seem likely to me. Especially with the D they have coming up thru their system.

Tampa and Toronto really want Dmen and rumors the Lightning are moving Drouin this offseason. Drouin for Vatanen makes sense

The "rumour" is Bob McKenzie carrying water for Drouin's agent ahead of what will be an interesting contract negotiation. He might well be traded, but that whole story just screams 'guy trying to drive his price up'.

Anyway, in terms of Treliving talking up Brouwer, I wonder if he's trying to make Brouwer seem more valuable to anyone listening in Vegas?

Well, I'm the one who suggested Versteeg and I had no idea either. I just poorly worded the idea that Vegas would outbid us in actual free agency and that in itself would be a loss for our team.

But if you don't mind I'm just going to sit here and pretend I meant what those posters said and look down on you.

Am I the only one who wants JG aka "the kid" left open to the expansion draft? All the talent in the world, but wont use it.....watch the world championships.....he will light it up AND play defensively.
Waiting to get roasted for this.

Even if you believe that then why would you not trade him instead of losing hkm for nothing.
So are you trolling or what?

If it's equal I tend to expose the forward. The consensus right now seems to be Vatanen is protected. But what do I know.
