Hilariously, they aren't the only ones upset - so is the (worst element of) the left.

I found that article totally reasonable. Calling someone a ****sucker is pretty crude, and lowest common denominator.

Which means they think they have the votes.

I don't see it passing the senate though, which means Trump's going to be ranting about changing the filibuster rules again.

EDIT: Nevermind about the filibuster I forgot they're using the reconciliation process for this, but I still don't think it'll pass, too many moderate senators.

I don't think the insult was "you suck other men's dicks and sucking dick is a bad thing to do", so much as "you are Vladimir Putin's lackey, in fact you're under his thumb to such a degree that you'll do anything to please him, including sexually". The fact that the two of them are men isn't really the point of the insult. It's pretty different from the Alec Baldwin thing referenced there.

Crude, sure, but homophobic, I don't think so.

Is there anything that summarizes what's in this new bill?

I haven't seen anything recent, afaik it's basically the same as the other bill that was going to put 25 million people out of insurance and cut $1 trillion from Medicaid except they added a clause that lets states opt out of the pre-existing conditions or required coverages. Plus a recent $8 billion extra (which is less than 1% of the bill) to help those with prexisting conditions for the next five years.

EDIT: This maybe https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...bill.html?_r=0

Looks like the House Freedom Caucus now supports the bill, which likely means that the bill is now horrible enough and screws enough people to satisfy them. Yay!

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/02/politi...ill/index.html

Quote:
As originally introduced, the bill would leave 24 million fewer people insured by 2026 than under Obamacare, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office said.
There will not be a new CBO report before Thursday's vote on the legislation.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi blasted the bill and decision to vote Thursday.

"Forcing a vote without a CBO score shows that Republicans are terrified of the public learning the full consequences of their plan to push Americans with pre-existing conditions into the cold," Pelosi said in a statement. "But tomorrow, House Republicans are going to tattoo this moral monstrosity to their foreheads, and the American people will hold them accountable."
Quote:
Importantly, the House Freedom Caucus, a group of conservatives who helped scuttle the previous bill in March, now supports the legislation. And it continued to back the bill Wednesday, even with the new spending being added. Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows said only one member of the group opposes the bill. "We're not going to lose any votes because of it," he said.

Rep. Carlos Curbelo of Florida, declared on Twitter that he opposed the bill.
"I just reiterated to @HouseGOP leaders that #AHCA in its current form fails to sufficiently protect Americans with pre-existing conditions," Curbelo said.

More here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/power...=.999dd84123dd

Quote:
If the bill passes, it will face a steep climb in the Senate, where widespread disagreement remains among Republicans about how to proceed on health care.

Rep. Fred Upton, an influential Republican from Michigan, introduced the amendment that was key to resolving a major sticking point this week. It provides more financial assistance — $8 billion over five years — to help people with preexisting conditions pay for medical costs. Those people are at risk of losing protections under the GOP plan, which seeks to repeal and replace major parts of the ACA.
Quote:
Under the GOP plan, states could opt out of parts of the ACA, meaning people with preexisting conditions could be denied coverage or charged more. Such states would have to set up “high-risk pools” to absorb some of the costs.

First of all, anyone who wants to dictate what people can and can't make jokes about is obnoxious. If you want to say a particular joke was in bad taste, go ahead, but proposing blanket bans is idiotic.

Second, who exactly was promoting sexual assault?

A woman that laughed during a part of Jeff Sessions swearing in ceremony is getting charged with disorderly conduct...

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a7715701.html

not sure if that's normal? Maybe it is, but I am not sure... seems a tad heavy handed rather than just removing them and fining them...

If the same joke was made about Obama or Hillary, it would be worse then career suicide, whatever that would be. The treatment of liberal leaders vs conservative leaders by the media and pop culture is mind bottling.

How about a book?

Quote:
In Memory of
Donald Young
This book,
BARACK OBAMA & LARRY SINCLAIR
Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder?
is dedicated to the memory of Donald Young, a man who died for no other reason than to protect the image of Barack Obama. His early demise prevented the world from knowing the truth about Barack Obama, which is that he is a closet homosexual, the likes of Jim McGreevy and Ted Haggard.
A very special Thank You to all those Americans, who simply asked for the media to report the truth about Barack Obama, and who quickly realized that would not happen in this new era of media bias. For the Black, White, Asian, Latino, Italian, Irish, etc., people who have refused to be threatened, bullied and intimidated by the Obama thugs.

Checked out the #FireColbert hashtag last night; 90% of it was support for Colbert.

Some author no one has ever heard off and noted lunatic Alex Jones (I presume?) not quite as main stream as Stephen Colbert. Don't lump me in with defending Trump and I will support a comedians rights, heck anyone's right to say whatever the heck they want, but there's no denying the double standard that exists.
