Hey Grant,

Are you having problems receiving my lines? It's been two games now, where the incorrect lines have been used. Today for example, I started Shields to give Ward a rest, but I can see that Ward started again...

I don't have any lines in the yahoo account. I'll log on to MSN here and try to catch you.

hmm players respond to the threat of trades. good win for Sanford in his first start. Modano still trying to find some chemistry in Buffalo, but the 2nd line picked up the pace.

Trevor Letowski has now recovered from his minor injury, but young Petr Vrana looks to be out for a while, so the lines will be tinkered with again

JETS SHUTOUT DEVILS!!

JETS 3 DEVILS 0!

The Winnipeg Jets got a 23 save performance from Sebastien Caron on Sunday afternoon to end a 3 game losing streak. Caron filling in for a tired Brent Johnson didn't have to make many difficult saves but when he did, he came up big, posting a shutout. Its Caron's first career CPHL shutout.

The Jets opened the scoring on Andrew Cassels's 6th goal of the year. Cassels backhanded a shot over the blocker of Nikolai Khabibulin. Cassels scored his 2nd of the game and 7th of the year 13 minutes later when he finished off a 2 on 1 with Ivan Novoseltsev. The Jets put the game away in the 3rd when Ivan Novoseltsev scored his 4th of the year on breakaway.

The Jets look to start a winning streak with a rematch tomorrow vs these same Devils. Caron should get the call once again.

Habs hand Raycroft first loss

The wear and tear of a HORRIBLE stretch of games is taking its toll on the Penguins. After only playing 2 games in two weeks the Pens played their 5 game in a span of 6 nights and it is still not over. The Pens battled hard, but with their #1 goalie Jose Theodore resting up and not due back in the lineup for at least 2 more days backup Andrew Raycroft struggled allowing 5 goals before being pulled late in the contest. The Pens battled back to tie the game at 4-4 late, before Kimmo Timonen put the dagger in with the winner with less then 4mins left. The tired Pens were not able to mount a comeback, and will try to regroup for tommorows rematch with the Habs.

Adam Hall'ts Jackets Winless Skid with Hattrick

The Columbus Blue Jackets rallied for 4 third period goals to erase a 2-1 deficit and leave St.Louis with a 5-2 win. Adam Hall tallied 3 goals for the Jackets including the game winner. Rick Nash finally got off the schnide, and Dave Scatchard also scored for the visitors. The Blues got tallies from One of their two gods Alexander Ovechkin, and Michel Oullet. Manny Legace was solid for the Jackets turning aside 25 of 27 shots and kept the Jackets in the game for the first period as the Jackets surrendered 16 shots, but escaped the frame dead even. Cory Stillman tallied 2 assists for the Jackets in his first game and assisted on Rick Nash's short handed goal to get the talented Blue Jackets forward on the score sheet for the first time this season. The bad news for the Jackets was Trent Hunter having to leave the game late in the second period. Early diagnoses shows the the tough two way forward will be lost to the Jackets for about a week. The game was the 5th in as many days for the Jackets and tommorrow will be the 6th straight for the Bunch from the Buck eye state as the Leafs come to town, the team will get a much deserved day off, and than face the Colorado Avalanche which will mark the end of a 7 games in 8 day stretch. After that will be two more off days followed by a 3 in 3 stretch.

With a large number of games coming up the Jackets made a move to beef up their immediate goal tending depth, and bring in some help up front. To do this the Jackets had to sacrifice two good young pieces in Matt Stajan, and Pascal Leclaire, as well as the enigmatic but talented Thomas Surovy. "We have a lot of games coming up and we can't rely on Manny to play them all. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and we need to keep him fresh. We hope that Brent can come here and give us some good efforts when we have to rest Manny. We also feel that Cjanek can come in and make some real nice contributions to our team right now. It's a risky move on our part, but hey someone has to try and do something to win."

Ward really shouldn't have played today...

Hopefully he'll actually let Shields get some action tomorrow!

HAWKS SPLATTER OIL!

The Chicago Blackhawks have struggled to get some chemistry going so far this season. The lines have seen a lot of juggling. Maybe coach Laviollette has finally struck oil---- errr gold. A bold move today placed young winger Colby Armstrong on a line with Brad Richards and Brenden Morrow. The line responded and netted the Hawks 3 goals. Whether this experimental line will remain intact is a question only Laviollette can answer. The Hawks 4th goal was chipped in by Tomas Vanek.

A fight near the end of the first period between Brneden Morrow and thug Barret Jackman succeeded in firing up the Hawks. They scored the go ahead and eventual game winning goal minutes later.

Stars win western shootout!

The Dallas Stars improved to 8-5-0-1 on Sunday night with a 6-4 win over the Calgary Flames. Milan Michalek and Alex Tanguay were once again the story as both chipped in with 2 points to lead the Stars to victory. New commers Toni Lydman and Brendan Witt each chipped in with one assist each in the victory.

"We really need to play better in our end. We can afford to give up 4 goals a night and expect to win in this leauge on a regular basis," stated a frustrated Marc Crawford after the game.

The Stars who are third in GF in the CPHL have had issues keeping the puck out of there own net all season. The Stars hope that the acquisistions of Toni Lydman and Brendan Witt will help in that area.

Game Stars
1 - Darcy Tucker (FLA)
2 - Milan Michalek (STA)
3 - Mike Commodore (STA)
