And it seems like teams are just flushing him to the outside and smothering him before he gets in too deep. He's not ever gonna power his way through so the options he has are limited.
If may be as simple as the book is out on him now, and the jig is up.

Except that he still scored at nearly a point a game pace this season despite the slow start and injury.
He's always going to struggle because of his size, but to suggest "the jig is up" when he put up 61 points in 72 games is completely overstated.

So to answer your question - for the third time- your suggestion all the teams that passed on him will ever be "proven right" is the ridiculous hyperbole.
Your inability to understand this really speaks to the usefulness of continuing to discuss this with you.

Your cherry pickingg my qoutes to fit your narritive. You seem to be the one most upset because the other twams have figured out what most fans see aswell. That and you just love to argue. Point to one time I said he doesn't have the talent? His size becomes a factor especially now. We get the black hawks in roind 1 differnt story.
I'll just let you vent all night . Would you like a hug buddy? There is always next year.

This team doesn't even make the show without Gaudreau. He's a core piece. The way you see him playing this season is a product of defensive systems + being stuck with Chiasson and bottom d pairings. The Flames won't find or develop any gamebreakers playing this style of hockey.

It's really quite sad that you don't have the reading comprehension or simple ability to articulate a point necessary to contribute to a discussion board.
Other "twams"?
"roind 1"?
lol, go home, you're drunk.

Getzlaf and a competent goalie would just about complete this team.
They're not far away, but they're a couple of the most crucial pieces away.
I think Parsons is the future and he can't arrive fast enough.

Personal insults and statements like this show you have no better response.
You just like to argue tho. Go ahead and vent . You have 6 months to get over whatever is eating you up inside.

How is it an insult to point out you're not even able to articulate yourself?
You asked what part of your posts were hyperbole and I answered you and then you accused me of "cherry picking" parts of your posts. lol.
You are obviously drunk, and you've wasted enough of my time (and your own). Drink some water and sleep it off.

Teams that probably have strong team defensive play?
Teams that have great sticks in the lanes?
Teams that probably have elite goaltending?
Teams that get leads by the end of the 2nd period on our shoddy goaltending and start playing classic shutdown 3rd periods?
Teams that are basically just the Anaheim Ducks?
So maybe you're making causations where there are none? And maybe that's why your comments come across as gross hyperbole?

These are good points, and I can see why they were conveniently ignored.
Gaudreau has always played well against both Los Angeles and Winnipeg, both big physical teams.
I do think he struggles vs. the Ducks (several of our players do), but he's still a young player and has room to improve and make adjustments.

This is embarrassing. Johnny is an all star and will play for team USA. He lead the Americans to a WJC and the BC Eagles to a national championship and also ended up winning the hobey baker in college.
He scored 61 in 72. You guys are ridiculous.

He had 2 pp assists in 4 games one a 2nd assist and was a minus 4 5/5 where he produced zilch. Defend him all you want he went awol this series not a good sign.

That's because it was against a team that plays big and grinds you out. Against SJ, EDM, CHI, MIN etc, he produces 5 on 5.
This is a problem though because Anaheim will still be in the way the next few years.
He either needs to be replaced with a bigger, stronger skilled player, or have more skilled linemates to help him for the team to take another step. The 1st line can't out-skill the top teams yet because it's missing a dangerous third member that can compete with the opposing top players and compliment Sean and Johnny.
The second option is probably more realistic. Oshie would be a massive upgrade on Ferland and take advantage of Johnny's playmaking better than any option they've had the past two seasons.

Oilers should trade McDavid...2 points in 4 games
Guy had a bad series...maybe get him and NHL caliber RWer before getting rid of him. He led the team in PPG playing with Chaisson or Ferland on his right side. With all due repect those guys are 3rd or 4th liners on most teams

Best part of this?
I increased my ignore list from 0 to 13 after the last 2 losses, so that quite an improvement.

Who cares about what McDavid and the Oilers are doing we're talking about the Flames . Yea watching Gaudreau dangle or make a nice deke are fun to watch in the regular season you do not get away with that in the playoffs . You need players who crash and bang can make plays fight for position in front of net win board battles .
Gaudreau is becoming more of a perimeter player than ever does his offence in the more open regular season help you get to the playoffs yes and no look at last season. Replace him with a 25g 55 point 6'2 winger he would help you get to playoffs just as much , difference is that player will help you more when things tighten up in playoffs where the cute dangles and dekes don't cut it. In another year or 2 of the same old you will all be agreeing with me .

The point is players struggle...
Good goaltending and the Flames are winning this series
And like I said get a real first line RWer
Don't tell me what I will be doing

Well you have a extreme bias and cheerleading attitude imo and seem to just paint the team as sunshine and flowers . I look at the team as someone who wants them hoisting the cup again , and I don't see this with Gaudreau as the main piece , I just don't see the fire in the player. And bolded you need to relax also and not take posts as a personal attack . It's the internet people have different opinions.

I think Johnny is a top-tier complimentary skill piece on any top line, but he isn't someone you build a winning team around.
Monahan is a good player and somewhere between a 1b-2a center. But he's not as good as Getzlaf, Crosby, Backstrom, Thornton as far as top line centers go, hence why those teams' top lines will have an edge. And part of why they have been top teams.
Have to hope they aren't done growing and will progress to where they can dominate most match ups like the above players. Then you look at trading one for the chance at an upgrade.

Gotta give credit to the Ducks' bottom six. Guys like Wagner, Shaw (really impressed by those two), Nate Thompson, Vermette, Cogliano, Ritchie...
They were very good, never took a shift off. That's how a bottom six should be comprised. Not with overpaid vets like Brouwer, Bouma and Stajan.
