If a flame player made that spear you could guarantee a suspension was on it's way.
With the Oilers, I guess we'll wait and see but I doubt it.

Friedman saying that goal differential doesn't matter in the playoffs. Sure, technically that's true. But there's no way a beatdown like that doesn't sting for the losing team, especially a young inexperienced team like the Greasers.

Friedman made the same comment during the 2nd intermission, and Hrudey laughed at him, saying it actually matters quite a bit to the goaltender.

I disagree. That was not reactionary.

He thought about it and pinpointed the direction of his spear.

Pretty obvious attempt to injure.

IMO, worse than Marchand infraction.

Should be 2 games, probably one with no priors.

Marchand got two games for a similar spear. Using NHL playoff game logic it should be one game.

Marchand also has a long track record. As much as I hate the Oilers that's not going to get him a suspension and I'm okay with it.

The goal differential doesn't matter? Tell that to the Sharks top guys who virtually did nothing before tonight and all got on the board today. That could be huge for the remainder of the series. If I was on the Oilers I surely wouldn't want any of them to start feeling good about their game.

Confidence is built on doing thinks right consistently.
The Sharks built a lot of confidence tonight.

Conversely, the Oilers confidence level was very much depleted tonight.

 Sharks in 6.

 Book it.

The only thing really that was keeping the Oilers in this series was SJ's anemic power play. Now that they have that figured out I expect that things will play out differently in Games 5 and 6.

So the Oilers have been outscored 10-5 yet are tied 2-2 while the Flames have been outscored 11-8 and are down 3-0. Hockey just isn't fair sometimes.

I expect Draistl to get no suspension... even though that was as dirty as Tkachuk's elbow
 NHL officiating is pretty poor

 we'll see though.

That's the difference between Hart goaltending and AHL goaltending

Hey, don't get me wrong, I think there should be a suspension, I just don't think the NHL will hand one out. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it happens. I always think the NHL is too soft on discipline, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

This. Cam Talbot makes 10-bell save after 10-bell save whenever I watch the Oilers play. He should be in the running for the Hart and I am dead serious.
