Yeah definitely agree. Just looks like he is taking a bit too long to make a decision and second guessing.

I find wideman does the same but his problem is his feet can't keep up with the play. Bart can keep up at least. I'd be hesitant to put Wideman in.

And rightfully so. He is right the Flames got shafted for cheap calls in the last 6 minutes of the game.

I'd love to see what Hathaway could do. If we're going to lose at least go down fighting. Obviously the coach doesn't think that but Hathaway wouldn't hurt the team and might inject some confidence in a few players in dire need of some.

Just feels kinda helpless, doesn't it?

I want to go all out, wear my gear, buy flags for my and my family's cars, go fan-crazy on social media. But it just feels like we got the door with the brick wall/spiked pit behind it and I should save my money, given that these aren't great times to be spending extra either. Feels like it's beyond just playing well at this point, in order to come out on top. And playing well is all they can do.

It sucks to have that feeling. Hockey gods, league, whoever, just throw this team a bone. Lord knows the Oilers - whom I sincerely believe are a worse team top to bottom - have been getting them all year long.

Ain't right.

With that, signing off for the night..

You are detestable to read. You only come here after losses to post the worst, most debbie-downer comments in broken english.

Why do you even watch the games? What joy does it bring you to do so with that constant attitude?
i was thinking my english is good enough but if it's not the case i understand some reactions to my posts.

Your english is good enough... it's clearly the downer attitude behind it that's the problem.

Agreed. Other than Bartkowski being the worst player on the ice 99% of the time, he's been fine.

This has been so agonizing to watch. The Flames are working their asses off, no doubt about that. I will not fault them on effort.

Simply the Ducks have Ryan Getzlaf and the Flames don't have anyone close to his level of talent on the team. He has been the Ducks best player both games and the Flames don't have an answer for him.

I don't understand Gaudreau's decision to dish the puck at the end of the game. I just want to see him shoot the puck. That was a mistake to dish it to a player that had no room to shoot.

We have had a lead for about 10 minutes in 120 minutes of playoff hockey so far. Not a recipe for success.

Please win both games in Calgary.

I had an Ampex I bought at the government surplus store, did some neat audio effects on that thing. I once used it echo back the voice of a telemarketer drove them insane.

Important to recognize moments outside of the end of the 3rd period. Flames could and probably should have taken control of the game by the end of the 2nd period. Gibson stood on his head a little bit today and the Flames didn't get the consistent goaltending/lucky bounce they needed in what really does feel like another winnable game.

Flames were the better team. I am heartbroken because they deserved a better fate.
They fought back after 2 leaky goals against, although Elliot did bounce back.
I give the flames a lot of credit. Should be coming back with at least a split. But they are not, that's hockey.
Be more diciplined and keep playing like this ... your not in trouble until you lose at home

I really hope the flames pummel those losers into the ground next game and blow the floodgates wide open for all the stupid flukes they have been getting.

My biggest problem is that I am impatient. Flames make the playoffs? Awesome. They are down 2-0 in the series? WTF is wrong with this team? It's easy to forget that last year we drafted 6th overall and took Tkachuk. Now I expect them to be unbeatable and get mad when they lose.

Now that I've said that, here's my optimism. The Flames are on the rise. Monahan and Gaudreau are both 23 or less... fantastic news for Flames fans and this team for the next decade. As each year passes our young guys are just getting smarter and stronger. Mony, Johnny, Bennett, Tkachuk, Dougie... all young guys. We are going up against teams who have been in the playoffs consistently and know how to win. Eventually Monahan will become our Getzlaf of the team... and win 12 of 14 face offs in a playoff game (I thought I heard that stat on the radio).

My heightened optimism? We are closer than we think to being a legit threat. We had Anaheim flustered in the 2nd... not everyone can do that. It's been mental breakdowns, stupid penalties and pure luck (anyone who tries to tell me that the GWG wasn't flukey as crap is out to lunch) that has us down in this series. We haven't been dominated this series like we were 2 years ago.

If the flames can win both at home and make this a best of 3... I really like our chances. IMO we've been the better team for the majority of both games, the bounces just haven't gone our way and the Ducks have been able to draw penalties on us. Perry conveniently running into Dougie trying to make a pick and Dougie hanging onto Perry's stick as a result makes my blood boil.

Go flames go!

So, GG says the ref told him it was a decision made in Toronto.

NHL puts out that it was goalie interference per the ref.

NHL tells CBC (John Garrett) at intermission it is reviewable and GG chose not to challenge.
Now if that's true, should this ref not be friggin canned? Why would he challenge if he believes the call came from Toronto.
Unless of course there is a curse and a conspiracy.

I listened to that conversation a few times, and at first it sounded like Roger Millions, and near the end it sounded like Eric Francis.

Maybe it isn't just one guy going off there? Maybe Roger starts it, and Eric chimes in at the end? It sounded like both of them to me.

However, it could be neither. Would love to know who this Mr. Flames is that went off on Dougie. It sounded to me like 2 different voices.
