Nope, you can't be a Flames fan unless you accept Cali Flames Fan's narrow definition of what constitutes a fan...blindly believing the Flames will win every single game and never giving the other team credit when the Flames lose. If you don't think the Flames are superior to every team they play against, then you're not a true Flames fan. Go cheer for the Oilers, idiot, moron, troll, moron (too drunk to think of another name to call you)

For a place that likes to lecture other fan bases and make fun of other fan bases, this place has the fortitude of a slug. This team is not a cup contender. I don't know anyone who was saying they were. But to watch that game and call them terrible or say the rebuild is a bust is just really small.

They dominated the Ducks. This cheap ass excuse for a team is lucky to be up 2-0. Keep with the program and they will win this thing.

And just so we're clear here.. No penalty on Hampus Lindholm, but Hamilton gets a penalty for trying to get Perry's stick out of his midsection.. right. In the third period of a playoff game. THAT is the call you make.
It was stupid of Hamilton to grab the stick in the first place no matter what he was trying to do. You don't give the refs a possible reason to call a penalty. Hamilton should know better!

It should. The players are learning a cold hard lesson in how stupid mistakes sends you to the links early. It's the difference in this series possibly being 2-0 for the Flames instead.

Gully going off on reffing.

Says standards have a changed and no one knows the rules anymore. Seemed to start calling it differently at 6 mins left.

Says he doesn't know how that goal was disallowed.

Pretty much seems comfortable with getting a fine. Love it that he's actually taking the risk to vent it and validate what we can all see at home.

They are a better team. Period. There is no debate, and it's why we can't beat them more than a handful of times every few seasons.

It's not a magic voodoo thing. That sounds more asinine.
What does a loss 9 years ago have to do with the current iteration of these teams. Like, should we all cheer for Montreal then? Because 25 cups?

What matters is who is better now. And I sure don't think Anaheim proved in either of these home games that they are better than the Flames.

Unless you mean better at diving, then yes, I will agree on that front.

I am sick of the refs this season.

Calls that go against the Flames don't seem to go against the other teams.

Flames are making stupid decisions but hard for them not to get frustrated when they have to play the other teams and the refs.

I'm going to defend Dougie on that late penalty. Perry interfered and put his stick into Hamilton's midsection, Hamilton was trying to fight through the interference and grabbed his stick to get the stick away from him.

At the very least that could have been coincidental minors. But it was pretty blatant interference as Hamilton was trying to skate back into the play.

The Brodie cross check, absolutely it was dumb. Maybe it was a loss of composure, maybe it was a belief that the refs wouldn't call something that minor with that little time left in the game. But it was stupid.

MAn, good on GG to call out the Zebras. He'll catch a fine for it, but who cares. It's absolute horse manure that the goal that they called good on Moose in regular season suddenly is a no goal cause Playoffs (but we all know cause Wideman for real).

I won't comment any further because I can feel my disappointment and rage starting to froth again and I don't want to say anything I might not actually mean.

Loved Gulitzans's responses there. I don't know what is a goal anymore and and what isn't, and it's infuriating that there's different standards in a game from the refs depending on the situation

Yeah, because blaming others and failing to hold yourself accountable usually ends up being a good organizational philosophy. That right there's what you call a "winner's mentality", alright.

Gulu just said he doesn't understand the rules anymore after the question about challenging the goal.

It's obviously not a curse but it's not about being the inferior team, because even a crappy team would get one or two out of it. This has got to be an unprecedented losing streak in one building.
Oh I read your post. And all of your posts during the game thread taking potshots at your usual targets and being your usual internet warrior.

I love how you state it's obviously not a curse one post after saying a curse is a stronger reason than the play on the ice. Yawn.

It's a losing streak and it will end when the Flames play a complete game and maybe get a break or two.

No offense to Stajan as he's had a good year but I think he shouldn't be killing penalties.

Bouma as well doesn't do anything on the PK but block shots and lose his man.
We have upgrades on those players. Bennett-Chiasson have been our second-best PKing unit all year. By a country mile. Our coach just has a hard-on for veterans.

I broke my keyboard on that Brodie penalty. I was really angry that he made that selfish play at a critical juncture.

This is the learning period for our rebuilding team. We need to learn what not to do, so we can beat teams like Anaheim in the future.
