I kept hoping for the Oilers to lose in the final stretch, but it didn't happen. They're hot right now, so this could be bad for the Sharks.

My heart says Sharks in 4, but my brain says Oilers in 5/6 depending on the Sharks' health.

Sharks in 5. Oilers don't win a home game.

Thornton back on the top line at practice.

I will say if HF is any indication Oilers fans are a very confident bunch with comments like "the Hawks are the only team that scares me". Pretty amazing how you can go from 10 years of lottery picks to instantly looking down on the Western Conference. Would be gratifying to observe the meltdown if the Sharks can pull out this series.

Didnt the Sharks recently play in the playoffs? I thought they had...hmm...my memory must be bad but I could have sworn that they were in the Stanley Cup Finals not all that long ago...

I must be mistaken, I'm sure Oilers fans are correct and the San Jose Sharks are surely a bunch of chumps.

That would have worked when they had a team of smurfs but that's one tough team now.

Although I don't expect them to go far, Oilers in 6.

Unfortunately, I don't see San Jose getting out of the first round.
They've played a lot of hockey in the last year, especially for a team that relies on some relatively old vets.
Beyond that, Burns, who really drove the offense for a large portion of the year, has really dropped off lately.

Yes, Edmonton fans, please keep looking past the Sharks. Please, continue to take them lightly.

I find posts like this so confusing. Do you think the fans taking them lightly will transfer on the ice? Are the players going to suddenly start thinking "Oh yeah, that's right, the Sharks are useless!!"? Or are the fans going to be that much more butthurt if they lose to a team they thought they would beat?

Just curious.

You'd think they would include the Ducks too. Anaheim made them look very ordinary, and late during their hot streak. Also they were not good against the Wild or Preds by all accounts. And we all know how misleading the Flames series was. Not indicative of how close the teams are.

San Jose may have flopped down the stretch but playoffs = reset button and everything on the line. Very silly to treat the defending western champs as fodder. Foolish. Very high potential in that lineup to elevate their game several gears when needed.

Veteran teams know, especially after making the run, what it takes. I think the Oilers might get caught trying to immerse themselves, and if they do SJ will make them pay. There is the potential for things to go south if they aren't prepared.

Awe, trying to get their own C of Red. Except with ugly orange t-shirts. How cute.

Sharks should be motivated to beat McLellan in a playoff series.

A couple big crunches on McBaby and he'll start shying away from contact. Shut him down and the oilers will fold like a cheap discount tent.

Yeah, fans always make this mistake - Attaching opposing team consequences/fortunes to the confidence of the fans of opposing teams. I chalk it up to rival fans just getting excited about trash talk and saying whatever to keep it going, lol.

Orange Crush was used by the Flyers for years. At least be original, Greasers. You've had ten years to come up with something.

The Denver Broncos were doing the Orange Crush in the 70s
