I think this has the potential to be a huge steal for Wally.

Now confirmed:
If the CFL didn't have a salary cap, chances are Jovan Olafioye would still be a B.C. Lion.
But Olafioye became a casualty of the league's $5.15-million cap Monday. The Lions dealt the six-time CFL all-star and future considerations to the Montreal Alouettes for the rights to Canadian lineman David Foucault, a Montreal native, and American Vincent Brown.
With a reported salary around $200,000 annually, it seems the six-foot-six, 325-pound Olafioye had become too rich for the Lions' blood.

That's a chicken #### way of doing business. Man up and tell the guy to his face or call the dude. Could see him staying in Ontario with Hamilton or Ottawa.
@Foley4real:
Released via text message by the assistant GM smh... Way to keep it classy #Argos 🤦🏻#♂️

About damn time....
Quote:
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats began publicly announcing names of players from their negotiation list on Friday afternoon with videos available exclusively to Ticats All Access members.
This unprecedented move ensures All Access members are the first to receive details on players protected by the Tiger-Cats on the team’s negotiation list, kept confidential until today. Released in a series of in-depth videos over the coming weeks, each episode will feature a scouting report and detailed information on two-to-three players as described by Tiger-Cats’ General Manager of Personnel Eric Tillman and Assistant General Managers Drew Allemang and Shawn Burke.
“This initiative is consistent with our mandate to find new and innovative ways to engage with our fans and provide unique content through our digital platforms,” said Scott Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. “It’s a great opportunity for Tiger-Cats fans to learn more about the team’s prospect pool and potential future players.”

That kind of came out of left field.
I'm guessing either he peed in something at an office party or they don't like what he's thinking in terms of the draft.

@garylawless:
Ed Hervey @EdmontonEsks was in last yr of contract. Board wanted more control, accountability. Hervey had success but worked on island #cfl
Does Jim Barker have his cell phone on? @EdmontonEsks can't turn to any other #cfl team employee (other than their own) right now. Pickle
presser is coming up, will be interesting to see what @EdmontonEsks prez Len Rhodes says. Hervey wanted more money, power. Dealbreaker. #cfl
Another name out there right now has to be Brendan Taman. He can step in and run an organization from a football aspect #cfl @EdmontonEsks
@scratchingpost:
Word is Hervey, who was in the last year of his contract, was in conflict with a number of people within the #Esks organization. #CFL

It literally sounds like Terry Jones and the local media as well as TSN (the whole microphone controversy) played a large role in this firing. There is no doubt Hervey was paranoid and a control freak but I'm surprised he wouldn't soften and let the media have a little more access if that was such a big deal to upper management. I don't think this is a great move for the organization but at the same time if you don't have everyone on the same page it was probably going to come to this eventually regardless.

If you get the job you have to run the organization into the ground.

So Coehoorn, Getzlaf, and Bailey all leave Edmonton, and Chambers is the only veteran national receiver they've added. Ouch.

Apparently Orridge is going to step down today. Not sure why the Commish is leaving, haven't heard any rumours. Was reported on TSN app.

Not sure why he's leaving? The guy was a disaster. According to TSN it was mutual with the CFL saying it wasn't a good fit so the reality is he probably got fired. As much of a disaster as he was the blame falls on the people that hired him. They need to find a replacement that has a bit more experience in professional sports. I get that the CFL is never going to attract the best and brightest but they need to at least find a guy that is on the level with Mark Cohon.
