"Human believes something weird". That's the headline here. So what? I don't understand why she gets so much attention.

Probably should have elaborated more.
My favourite part of this is the left bleeding heart liberals who make me hate being a liberal think this person is crazy and make fun of her. But a man who thinks they're a woman? No problem.
Isn't a lot easier a stretch to say you consider yourself black instead of white, than a woman instead of a man? Double standards are hilarious.

I don't pretend to have a clue about how transgender people feel or think.
It's perfectly acceptable to believe that a man in the sky is reading your mind and will whisk you away to a magic place when you die. To me, that's a lot weirder than a man preferring to live and be identified as a woman. There's a double standard.

A fascinating Rolling Stone piece just last year explored the biology of being transgender, noting, among other points, “the brains of trans people do look different.” A Boston University study earlier this year supports the idea that “There is increasing evidence of a biological basis for gender identity.” And as trans woman Meredith Talusan further illuminates, “The fundamental difference between Dolezal’s actions and trans people’s is that her decision to identify as black was an active choice, whereas transgender people’s decision to transition is almost always involuntary.” So if you want to make a case that being “transracial” is like being transgender, knock yourself out, but I’d like to see some data first, thanks.

There seems to be a clearly set standard that people can self identify as anything they want so I don't know why she would catch any flak from people on the left on this.

There's no basis. It's called cultural appropriation and I doubt many on the left find the "Trans racial" thing anything but stupid and offensive.

Part of me thinks this is ridiculous, but another part of me thinks the more the waters around race get muddied the better since it's a stupid and largely arbitrary concept anyway.

Who are they to argue with how she feels? Is that not the argument for all of this stuff? It doesn't cost anyone anything to be sensitive and accepting of her.

We live in a day in age where someone can say they are whatever they want or be whatever they want. And as stupid as you may think it is (and this really really is), she isn't hurting anyone. The sooner people accept this is the direction society is going the less headaches a person is going to have.

Weird. I find her totally offensive. All that bs about being a poor black kid and having ancestors riding the under ground railway? And arguably using that narrative to get her job? No way. I'm not accepting that non sense at all. She's a dolt.
