I think I already said this but we will be on vaca in Anaheim at the time of a potential game 5 so I am hoping for the Ducks.

I want the Oilers and I badly, badly want to beat them and shut them up! Living up here in "Oil Country" this year has been painful.
The Mcdavid testicular tickle-fest broadcasts will be almost insufferable, but it will be worth it when we beat them.
Losing to them would be beyond atrocious, but I like our chances very much. It's not that I feel the need to avoid a battered Ducks team either, I would just love to railroad the Oil in the first round.

One quick example.
Place is known as an echochamber where everyone who doesn't conform with the group think is chewed out.
But there's no examples of that here.....
Its a great forum, easily the best for Calgary-centric off topic discussion. Plenty of issues and validity in those sentiments though.

That's quite a circle jerk of butthurt over there. What exactly is your point? That a bunch of users that were banned from CP created a thread on another forum to whine about it? That makes you look even more whiny.
I've engaged in plenty of dialogue on a multitude of topics on this site over the years and generally it is high quality debate. If your 'opposing' view is that the Flames are going to lose quickly to either team, that's fine, but you better be prepared to defend it. Why do you post if you're not really willing to have a dialogue about it, and just get defensive if you're challenged?

I don't think we match up against one better than the other. I would love to face the oilers for the experience of a BOA.
Also anyone who owns a saddledome ticket and sells it to one of those mullet heads and their orange jersey should be punished with a permanent relocation to Edmonton.

Nope sorry don't want the Oilers in the first round. Second round, bring it. I have zero confidence in the ability of NHL officials to call a fair series. As someone said, getting within breathing distance of McDavid will be a penalty. And the media fawning over every player on their team along with never ending camera shots of their extended families will be unbearable. The only way to watch the series would be in the US on NBCSN.

If we win the first round: Oilers.
If we lose the first round: Ducks.

Unfortunately its a pick your poison scenario.
Do you want to face a team that you haven't beaten on the road in 13 years?
Or do you want to go up against the leagues best player (who we have no answer for)?
We would've faired better against the Hawks imo

Does anyone really have an answer for McDavid?
Don't forget the Hawks are as close to a dynasty in this era of hockey as you can get.

Bring either team on. I feel like they are both over confident especially Oiler fans. Living up here in Edmonton just sucks right now. The fan base is so over confident considering they have proved nothing so far. Hey credit to them great season, but they still have a lot to prove. I would love nothing better then for the flames to demolish them in a series.
Would love to beat the ducks finally too. Hell might have to go through both of them eventually. That would be sweet.

As long as you back it up on this board as well then I don't have an issue with it, and I appreciate that you're not trying to backpedal. I've seen people in the past bash the site on HF yet post here and say how great it is.

Fair enough, definitely legitimate sentiments to have. At the end of the day if I didn't like CP overall then I wouldn't be here, but I won't pretend it's all roses all the time either

Playoffs are a different animal than regular season and it takes 4 lines and usually 8 dmen to win a Stanley Cup. McDavid or not, the Oilers are not built to win 16 games in the post season.
As for the Flames and the recent show of team toughness and togetherness, I think the Flames match up well against the Oilers if the Flames can stay out of the box.
If it becomes a special teams battle this post season and Drasaitl are given undeserved PP opportunities, then all bets are off..
When it comes to Anaheim, I think the ducks have a way of getting the Flames to play the way Anaheim wants them to and it takes the Flames off their game.
A good ol BOA is what I want.

And you think McDavid will draw fewer penalties in the playoffs because?
