Thanks regular season. Way too many ups and downs for my liking, but it was a nice ride and the destination is where we want to be.

Time to take it up a notch -- revenge on the Ducks or revenge on the Oilers. Either way it will taste delicious!

Pretty awesome to see that kind of improvement over one season. Early in the year it was looking pretty bleak, but full marks to this team and the coaching staff for righting the ship and climbing back up the standings like they did. Getting back to the post season was the goal, and they got it done. Now let's see what kind of damage they can do!

Got back to the house in time to see part of the third period. Didn't look too inspiring, but was happy to see that Lazar scored and Chucky got his bonus. Rittich looked OK for being thrown in there - nice treat for him.

Now we wait to see if the Greasers win again and the Kings do us a favour and spank Anaheim so we get the B of A. That would be a mighty tasty series!

Make the Sharks feel good about themselves going into the first round. Smart strategy.

The Flames will have the 15th 17th selection in the 2017 draft, unless Nashville or Calgary make the conference finals.

17th.

The 14 non-playoff teams and Vegas will pick 1-15 and Nashville will be 16th.

Strong management (assuming BT gets re-signed)
Looks like a strong coaching staff
Great young core
Decent D and G prospect pool

Also, nice to see Chucky get his 200k assist on Lazar's 1st goal as a Flame.
Not for me. I don't give a flying fart what the Oilers do. I had a lot of fun this season. Sure the Oilers being good is annoying, but it in no way shape or form took away from my enjoyment of the Flames. At the end of the day, as long as the Flames are good I'm happy.

Bring on the playoffs!

Glad to hear Gulutzan in the post-game interview say that he was happy that the Flames are healthy going into the playoffs. That's a relief and really encourage, especially compared to last time when they were missing the captain.

This was a really dull game to watch but here are some thoughts anyways:
-I thought Gaudreau was fun to watch as he seemed to be showing off a little bit out there.
-Was shocked that Monahan shot the puck right into Dell's chest on the 3 on 2 where Burns let him glide into the slot. He's usually a sniper from there. Hopefully he busts out of this mini-slump in time to be a big part of a first round win
-Really surprised to see after the game that Dougie Hamilton averaged only 19:41 per game. I wonder if his minutes will go up in the playoffs.
-Both Bartkowski and Wideman make me nervous out there. Why on earth would Wideman decide to tip that puck... awful.
-Lazar looked pretty good again and generating a little bit of optimism on my part.
-Ridditch looked pretty good. Garrett was critical of his rebounds, which was fair, but I thought he played really well after those comments. Nothing to be done on that goal and he tracked a few through traffic well.
-Bennett is carrying the puck better and Stone looked pretty good on that first powerplay
-Rasmus looked a little exposed as a rookie on that goal, but to be fair to him it was a nice play by the Sharks. Thought he was pretty solid otherwise.
-Happy for Andersson, Tkachuk and Lazar!

Really excited for the playoffs....bring on anyone!!!

Flames finish the season 4-6 in their last 10, and really don't look that threatening. Both the Oilers and Ducks appear to be peaking at the right time, so my hopes aren't very high regardles of who they face

Now that the playoffs start, we better be seeing 20-25 minutes or more per night from our top 4, and it's time to dial back the bottom pair minutes. Especially Bartkowski. No offense, those guys did a great job getting us here and taking minutes when it wasn't as crucial, but now you sink or swim with your best.
